I've been practicing in the SB Pro PE tank range tonight and finally got something to make me smile:

Yeah I'm still working on getting my kill time down. At least I'm not missing my targets :)

Be interesting to see how the scores end up. My record is 100%, 3.3s in SB1. Haven't really tried to 'excel' at SBPPE yet though. I have a feeling I'll be a bit slower.

Yeah I agree. My avg. kill time was a lot lower in SB. SB Pro PE gunnery is a lot more demanding in my humble opinion (and I think that's a good thing).

Just today I made 100, 5.4 seconds with the M1. Gun with the mouse. :)
Now that is pretty Good Flattax. Best I ever got in SB1 was 2.3sec. Of course I lost the screenie! Best in Pro is I think 5.1, something like that. Im gonna keep at it though...Im not going to let a Frenchman hold ANY title... :)

My best so far, and without my new PC crashing or freezing up on me was 90% @ 5.2 sec's in the M1. Everytime I was getting close to getting 100% and a faster time, it froze up.. lol
So, PC went home to its maker for repairs and will be back hopefully by this weekend..
Can't wait..

I managed to find a profile I made for one of the early SB Pro betas back in 2002, 100 percent with an average of 6 seconds. Im happy, any more than that and its showing off.

Wow, I'm impressed, I was feeling quite chuffed with a low 90's score, I'm generally missing a couple of shots but my av time is woeful, 13+ I recall.
I'm using a cougar, which probably isn't ideal ( still its improving my right bicep ), I know Blue uses a mouse how bout TG and LS ?

I'm finding the biggest impediment to getting a super-fast time of engagement isn't the shoot time, but rather the ID time.
In SB1, you just went wide-angle thermo and watched for the bright dot. Now you have to scan more, and if the enemy spawns left when you are scanning right.....
FWIW, I'm currently averaging 9/10 with a TTE of around 10 seconds on the range.

I am using a Saitek X45 (my cougar is built into my F-16 cockpit with a force transducer base =P)

I agree completely. Once I ID the target I can kill it fairly quickly. Finding it is a lot more difficult than it used to be in SB. I did the same as you in SB... I stayed in thermal, ID'd and popped them pretty quickly. In SB Pro PE they're not nearly so easy to spot on thermal. What I usually do now is start scanning in thermal and scan for a bright spot or movement, then switch thermal off and line up the shot.

Grrrr, I had a x45, ended up giving it away when I got the Cougar, should have kept it, I remember using it on sb1 and was very smooth... wonder if my mate wants to give it back!

I do not use thermal on the Tank range . I scan left and right in day sight gently ...

Thanks for clearing that up. I was born in Germany, I am actually mostly of Irish ancestry, and I married a Mexican. All true...
M1A1 gunnery using a joystick.
Having low times means absolutely nothing if you cant get your situational awareness up, and thats my biggest problem at the moment. No point being able to aim and shoot fast when the enemy can out think you and already has a round on the way about to penetrate your tank. There is still room for improvement on the gunnery time I feel, but that is pointless until my tactics and SA abilities improve first.
Now I need to catch Tony and the rest of the Aussies online more so they can give me some much needed SA/Tactics training.

 100% @ 4.1 sec's in M1
:?: Question: with WXP Pro, I tried changing the bmps to Gif, or Jpg's but the pic's come into forums too small, and when I tried to enlarge it, as seen in fourm, it gets big enough to read, but turns to grey squares that ya can't read..
What's the tirck here to get them readable in the forums?
Thanks
