In SB1, I could hold down the space key to key more map details when in MAP view. This was awesome as I could get a better sense of terrain relief.

Has this feature been removed to enhance realism or is it just an oversight?

It was removed for techincal reasons. The best compromise we came up with is to allow the user to change the isoline spacing. We all miss it....
