Easier Scenarios

I see some people here have been feeling a little overwhelmed with the complexity of some of the scenarios that shipped with PRO PE so I decided to updated my CAVALRY TO THE RESCUE mission from the original SB1 for these people. Here you only control 2 M1s, and I even provide a route to take so all you should have to do is gun. Or you can create your own route, deviate from the route, whatever floats your boat. No guarantees though heheh. Updated MAP, SCORING, POSITIONS, ETC ETC You can get it from the DOWNLOADS section or here is a direct link. http://www.steelbeasts.com/modules/Downloads/store_folder/PRO_PE_SCENARIOS_SINGLE_PLAYER/Easy/cavtotherescueprope4d.zip Extract into your MY SCENARIOS folder, or whichever folder you want. Look in the manual to search out all the different folders if you need to =) Anyway hope this helps break through the initial learning curve!

I forget if the scenario makes the Bradleys human-controllable or if I edited to make them that way, but if you gun one of the Brads you'll find they don't really need to be rescued. :twisted:

No the Brads are computer AI and only two are semi operational and with limited ammo at that.

As a newbie your mission sounds right down my street and I will give it a go as soon as I get chance to download it.

As mentioned in a previous post I would welcome any more missions that you or others can create for people with less experience or time. I'm one of those guys easily over loaded with all the units under my command and would love the chance to play some simple missions with only a few units, waypoints already mapped out for me and best of all the chance to just sit in the gunners seat or command station of one unit.

Remember kinder... Use your tanks like a three man sniper team. two provide overwatch while one moves. Two provide overwatch while one fires and then re-adjusts position. It's a hard habbit to break, that sit on the hill and slug it out. But you can do it! try using everything but your wagons on your first attack as well.

Wow, I was just coming to the forum to post about how challenging (read F****** hard) the Pro PE scenarios are, and I find this thread. Great!

Thanks RnR. I'll DL your scenario right away. Even though I played SB for many months, its been a long time and I'm damn rusty. It will be a relief to step back and work on an easier scenario.

I have a question, is it alright to post converted scenarios that came with SB1? I've converted ambush but I'm not sure if it's cool to post the IP from another product.

Credit the original author if you can, and you should be good to go.

I downloaded the new scenario but I'm not sure which folder I need to copy to - any assistance would be gratefully appreciated as I can't get to play it :oops:

C:Documents and Settings, (User Name), My Documents, eSim Games, Steel Beasts, My Scenarios

That is where it goes. Just stick it in whatever folder you prefer.

latest and probably final version of CAV TO THE RESCUE as of late 9 Mar 06. Less lethality on part of bad guys, better scripted route if player that does not want to plan his own route, etc.
