I used the Saitek X52 profile editor to program my stick. I go to play SB Pro PE. All of the buttons work as programmed BUT the X and Y axis do not appear to work. When in the gunner position the turret does not move. I can lase, fire, change ammo selection...but no turret movement.

I can even drive the tank with my POV 3 hat on the throttle.

What am I doing wrong?

I've had that problem with a lot of games, and I have an X-45.
Try this:
Go to your control panel. Choose "game controllers". Click on "options" or "advanced". You'll get a menu asking you which controller you want to use as your primary controller. Choose the stick. It should work fine now.

What if you leave it as default and program your game after the joystick? I have an X52 myself but I have never used the profile editor together with SB. I trust you have not set the joystick axes to banded mode?

Im not quite clear on what your saying. But if what I think you are saying is if I clear the profile so my stick is not programmed and then run Steel Beasts, I did that, and nothing seems to work in that case. No buttons, no movement. However my trackball works fine still and the the mouse stick on the throttle portion of my X52 setup works as well. That is interesting.

I've had the exact same problem with god knows how many games(including SB1), and selecting the stick as the primary controller in the game controller-menu worked every time. If you've had more than one controller, odds are that your X52 is not selected as your primary controller, which will explain the problems you're experiencing.

Yep, that fixed it. Except when I click advanced it just asks me if I want to "use with older games". Works like a charm now.

Thanks for the help guys.
