Canada, Air Force? In a mail exchange, Ssnake has negated Canada to be a customer just days ago.

Now thats an interesting twist... yes the air force uses it to teach the advanced avaiation tactics course as the terrain features and interaction with ground forces allow them to do things as route planning, time appreciations, logistic planning and a slew of other things. They have gound forces manned by guys in green to interact with and of course bad guys to shoot them down if they don't pick the right route. It also allows the guys in green to do their tactics and do hasty attacks etc.. Its a pretty neat set up. Negated? Really?

Neat. Does that mean we'll see a CV9030N some day?

France is reviewing it too .

If my Country is buying it ~very good chances~ we could get some interesting vehicules in the ProPE fleet :
# Leclerc MBT
# AMX-30B2 (?)
# AMX 10-P
# AMX10-RC
# VBCI
# AML-90
# ECR-90
# VBL

Froggy knows more than me about it ...

Cheers . :3starSK:

Actually, I noticed there were .bmps for both the Strv-122 and the CV9040 in the folders... is that good news or just a coincidence?

I'd love a Leclerc. But honestly, is that very likely? As far as I know, the Leclerc is one of most closely guarded secrets in the tank-world...?

Is SB commonly used in the army? I believed it was the sims at Rena that was being used, and that we used SB only becouse you guys took initiative to use it to train us.

Ssnake has mentioned the CV9040 (I think it was the -40) as "in the works" on other forums. It may be in the first "upgrade" patch.

There is a way to get the srtv-122 to show up in the game. if you find out how, you get a cookie ;)

But I want the Link-16-ish map system, L55, and the other Swedish gadgets, too! I kinda think that'll be a bit hard with just the bmp files...

ed: yep, I remember seeing a post mentioning a CV9040 - but I can't help but being patriotic enough to want a CV9030N, too

I had eight countries listed as customers and users, and asked him about that list. He scratched Canada from it.

Sooner or later Ssnake will read this. Then he can clear it up.

He definitely has confirmed the CV9040 to me some days ago in an interview. the vehicle is planned for release in summer.

The interview will be published around one week after the review. I must thank him for having given some real indepth information.

I wanted to say this since days and weeks: THE FUTURE OF STEEL BEASTS LOOK DAMN BRIGHT TO ME!!!!!

I dont think Esim have ever said that. They did say the MOD was looking at it a number of years ago, but that for a number of reasons nothing came of it.

Steel Beasts PRO is used to train gunners in TMBn.

What's the difference between B and C? Fully stabilized turret? The earliest 9040 didn't have stabilization, did it? I do seem to recall that Norway had to show you the true path of fully stabilized turrets

CV9040C has more armor, better mine protection and are capable of fireing 3P.. and some other "trivial" updates

We dont have the L55 gun - yet.

Kamatz

Ah.. more armour. How handy...

Nah, I noticed you only had the sissy-gun when I checked it. Tsk tsk for shame..

Hey, I'm at work so I can't really play around with anything (other than the net, that is). But renaming the strv122.bmp files to ...say, leo2a5.bmp would probably do something.

Only the earliest test versions lacked stab. A-version had a stab, not great but enough to kick some ass with.

Besides, it still lacks the moving map...

well, we do have good tanks and IFVs I have to say, but there are nothing wrong with the M2 either. I really dont like the M1 because of it lacking a PERI for the TC, If it had I think I would use the M1 more. lets hope we get the M1A2 soon. but meanwhile the M2 really kicks ass. but I do think that will change when the CV9040C arrives. But who knows? we havent seen it perform anything in the game yet. It might as well suck (hard to think but still possible)

Do you know whether the CV9040 in SBPPE will have the BILL 2 integrated or not? Or was that just a test project?

The CV9040-56 was just a test version. Only lived one year. The BILL2 is not a good launcher to put on a vehicle, only 2000m and long flighttime. And besides that the 40mm is fully capable of taking out the enemy. ;)

The US is a military customer? Hmm. Why no M1A2SEP? Presumably they'd have a vested interest having the most current model available.

I can shed some light on this:

Canada has the Helo units using SB Pro. And My Regt has done some testing for evaulation for the army. Also my unit has done a large ex with the Griffen helo unit last year. Our Unit has more time on the sim than the army as a whole. This may change very soon though.
