I've had a couple of themes where I could not change the ground type. Every time I change it from what was there originally, when I exit and return, the original ground is back.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

This happened with the desert theme, trying to change the ground from "broken" to "sand".

You must save the theme file!
And if you leave the map editor and enter it again and load an old map, you may need to load the theme for it as well (I'm not sure about this, though... too many things in SB now to remember them all.... argh)

OK, how do you do that?

I don't see a "save" button on the theme edit window. When I exit the theme edit window and choose "save as" from the theme menu, none of my changes are saved, the old settings are still there when I go back to the edit theme window.

Yes there is one . When you exit the theme editor , it asks you if you want to save the "new" theme .

Cheers . :3starSK:

Ah, I've never had it ask me that upon exiting the theme editor, even after making major changes. Bug?

Speaking of themes, who's theme show up on MP? The one the host is using, or the one are using for that scenario on your computer. Could one player be using a summer and the others a winter theme?

The themes are delivered with the scenario along with the terrain map, and optionally the height map.... so - no.

Is there a way to tell what theme was used on a particular map? the map info has the original height map but not the theme. That would be a nice info add.

Hmm I guess, but what if the user just modifies the existing default to his needs and doesnt rename it? The themes are just intended as templates for people to dream up their own - you dont necessarily have to save the theme seperately.

Ah I was wondering if the THEME gets transferred with the mission file or if it checks the players computer...are you positive? I guess in the long run MACHTS NICHTS

I'm sure. :-) The theme is embedded in the terrain map, and the terrain map is embedded in the scenario file.

We made this specifically to prevent "theme cheating" in multiplayer games.

OK, so how come my copy of Pro PE never asks me if I want to save the changes I made to a theme? :(

Has anyone else done this using the release version of PPE? i.e. changed a property of a theme in the theme edit window and then saved when the window was exited?

Ok, I just tried this and its working for me. I must be missing something.

1. Open map in map editor.

2. Edit theme.

3. Save terrain map.

When I close and reopen it, I see my texture changes are still applied.

Sean,
Yes, but have you done this: open the theme edit window in the map editor (with a map loaded), change the ground type, exit the theme edit window, save map, exit, reopen map and is the changed ground type still there?
