Hey I just received my copy, installed as instructed, inserted the dongle (which is NOT blinking red and green) started the CM software, and got the following error "CodeMeter error: Please ensure your CM stick is securely in a USB port. 100146:11051" How do I fix?
Can you try the dongle in another computer? Its should blink when you plug it in.

It does blink, but then it stops. I think it's supposed to do that. And the codemeter icon in the systray is turqois like it should be...

This problem has been fixed, though I don't which thing I did fixed it. I have Norton Anti virus installed on my PC, and it blocked the Dongle from transmitting over the internet. I disabled Norton and registered the dongle and it works now! It's so detailed yet the frame rate is excellent! I'm not sure if registering the dongle or disabling Norton did the trick, but I'm glad it's fixed!

OK Talon49, so I can file your request and need no longer worry about it, right?

I am having the exact same issue as Talon49. Do we know what the fix is at this time? I've already tried to disable both my firewall and anti-virus, with no results. My codemeter stick is also registered. Thanks

I have the same problem. Is it a bios issue?

When I rebooted the computer the stick flashed green/red/green now no lights are coming from it at all. When I try to start the game I get the same error as Talon and Crazy5.
I'm stumped.

Got it fixed!
My thanx to Al and to Sean for pointing the way!

Whenever something's fixed, please point out for the public as well how you did it. That way it's going to be more helpful for everybody.

Well in my case the dongle was missing the license. I had to send Al a file and he sent me back the license and updated the stick. Was pretty simple.
I scoured the forum looking for the solution to the error I was getting but didn't find much.
Thanks again!

Now someone will. :)
Now I have the same problem and same error.
Should there be a licence in the stick? File manager sees nothing but a 512-bytes codemtr.io -file there?
In licences tab I see the following:
Firm Code Text Precise Time
0 User Data n/a
100003 Bundling Articles 2006-03-23 17:22:26
In codemeter logfile I can see the following:
2006-03-23 17:27:37: API Event WB0200 occured (returned to caller)
2006-03-23 17:27:38: Entry (100146:11051) not found (Event 200, Request IP-Address 127.0.0.1)
Please help?

Same here!
I've emailed CodeMeter but, nothing as yet. Looks like tonight's a total loss.
If I were to change the CM password would that make a difference? And what is the preset one, If one were to accidently change it? *cough*

I was experiencing the same problem with the CM-Stick\dongle. I have the new version of Norton on my computer. When I turned it off I was able to update Wibu File and the game began functioning fine – for awhile!! I was playing it off and on for the last week or two. Last night when I tried starting the game, I began experiencing the same error again. The game wont start, and the computer tells me there is some sort of error with the CM-Stick. This continues even after I turned off Norton completely and tried overwriting the Wibu file. WTF-over??
This is really becoming rather irritating. I have a limited amount of computer gaming time available, and I don’t wish to spend it monkeying with the darn dongle. Why is the CM-Stick suddenly acting up again and not allowing the game to launch?
Sorry – but I spent two weeks trying to figure out how to get the game to run in the first place. Now after getting it to run for a week or so, suddenly the dongle is doing the same BS again.

Have you checked the codemeter server/web admin? If so is it showing a firm code for esim?

Sorry – I’m a dumb-ass. You have to disable NORTON “Internet Security”. There is also the option to disable NORTON “Internet Anti-Virus Auto-Protect”. For some reason that is apparently known only to my malfunctioning synaptic nerves I kept disabling “Internet Anti-Virus Auto-Protect” before trying to launch Steel Beasts during my last night game session. This don’t do shit, and gives you the dongle error. You have to disable NORTON “Internet Security” before launching the game. Than it works real good. ;P
False alarm – nothing to see here but a dumb-shit – please go about your business and ignore my last post.

DISABLING any sort of security to run software is not an option in my book.
You must be able to add the port (22350 I believe) to the allowed list in NIS.
I run ZoneAlarms Pro (NIS was too flakey, too often in this respect and it got "removed") don't think this issue is related. As Hanu, has pointed out, I too don't have a license installed (I think).

The point is to disable it temporarily to see if that's causing the problem.
As Hanu, has pointed out, I too don't have a license installed (I think).
That's covered in the new topic just posted as well ;)

Mine's ok now, thanks to very fast responses and quick licence update from Al after I send message through support-page in esimgames site.

Mine would be OK: despite the quick response from Al/eSimgames to inform me I had atteched the created file.
Thanks a bunch (in advance) anyways.

And for Ssnake: just to recap; I solved my problem by going to the sticky thread "If your dongle is not working, please read this" and following the instructions...they work(ed for me).
