hi,
How can the BMP (left top corner) hit the Marder (below). Woods do not block line of sight?

When you drive in woods , you can see that the tree foliage starts rather high , especially with Coniferous . It would not surprize me if the BMP saw the marder in between the tree trunks ...

Perhaps.... anyways.... this shows that AI gunner are excellent gunners afterall. Or it was just his lucky day. :D

I dunno Bluewings. That looks like a heck of a lot of tree trunks for the BMP to get a clear LOS to the target. But if you're right, that's still one hell of a shot!

You lot haven't played much MP, have you? Every now and then, you'll find that what you thought was a thoroughly hidden vehicle is killed through a half-mile of trees. What usually happened is that by a complete quirk, a part of a single roadwheel showed up between the tree trunks, and someone took a shot at it.
I tend to stay out of trees if I can. Not for fear of troops, but because I've found that emerging from them is particularly dangerous. The branches will obstruct your GPS view, but people on the outside looking in have no difficulty in spotting your tracks/wheels.

Then there is this...

I set up a scenario with 4 leopard2's sitting on the other side of a 400 meter deep forest. On the other side was 4 T-80's... I couldnt' see a thing through the woods of course but the AI had no trouble trading shots through the woods... This needs to be fixed.

Here is a shot from a T-80 that saw me through a wooded area and through that building. The T-80's can just be seen off in the distance. The strange thing is that sometimes the buildings seem to block LOS for the AI and sometimes they don't.
Of course maybe somebody left the windows open in the house and they were able to sight me through them.

For what it is worth, I have watched a tank go behind a building while tracking...shot even though the building was in the way, and got a hit and a kill.
He may have seen you before you dodged behind the building.

KE shots penetrate buildings, that is possible but how many buildings and how deep through wooded terrain? I have no problem with a shot once in awhile going through a building while tracking but I hope the game engine doesn't allow them to ignore all buildings constantly. It would be nice to know how the game engine actually deals with wooded terrain and the buildings as far as LOS and shot penetration.

KE rounds may penetrate buildings, but I doubt that they would penetrate al the building then damage or kill a tank hidden behind... ;)
Perhaps some missing "visual obstruction" in a LOD of several buildings ?
