Useful reading etc.

Hi. I'm just about to get SB (having got Panzer Elite and decided to take it back). This game seems much better.

Over time I'll doubtless trawl the various posts/sites etc that relate to modern tank warfare and SB in particular but are there any recommended primers or tactical notes etc worth reading that anyone can point me to?

Also, once I've got the game, are there any recommended mods/skins etc which are classed as 'must have'?

Welcome aboard.

On this site there is a link to something called the Anti-Frustration Kit. You'll find lots of handy tips there. Review the Forum archive, there's a lot of good stuff there, too.
For mods and skins, this site and the the Anti-Frustration Kit both have links. The AFK shows you how to make and/or use skins, too.
Play the SB tutorials. They're all useful, they'll teach you pretty much everything you need to get started. Play the missions in the folder marked Training. They'll teach you certain maneuver drills, how to use routes, and so on. One tutorial I recommend as a must-play is the Artillery tutorial. Just about every scenario has artillery of some sort, knowing how to access the big guns can literally save your (virtual) life.

Thanks for replies folks. Hopefully will have the game in an hour or so. Can't believe how lame PE was. Zilch MEANIGNFUL control over wing vehicles at all. Don't want to slag the game too much but this looks MUCH better. I play a lot of Combat Mission BB at the moment, just looking for an occasional change. Really looking forward to this.
