Hello to all,

i'm new to the game and first i've to say, i'm very impressed how detailed tank warfare is simulated in this lovely piece of software. :D
You can even try various tactics and study their impact on the battlefield, great !!
I'm lucky that a informative expert community exists, too.
(sorry for my bad english, i'll try my best ;) )

Currently i've a little prob concerning the control of the .50 cal gun of the M1A1.
Ii can use my joystick to move it sidewards (left and right, no prob),
But when i tried to move it up and down with the stick ....nothing impossible!

Well, i can use the arrow-keys but then the gun moves very strange up and down, not really consistent.

Does anyone of you have an idea?
Is this phenomen normal?

Greetings,
Hafer

Welcome to the forums, and to the Steel Beasts community!

To answer your question, .50 cal works in SB the way it does in order to simulate the real .50 cal controls on M1A1, which consist of a powered traverse, and a handcrack for elevation. SB simply simulates this apparently ackward system.

Thanx for your quick answer, wolfman :)

I thought it would have something to do with my configuration.
Now I'm little bit wiser.

Greetings,
Hafer ;)

It's been my experience that the best way to use the .50 is to let the TC loose with it. I personally can't aim it for love or money, but the TC does better than I, gets better results.

What gets me is that the gunner keeps scanning while I'm trying to line up the .50...

Must try the TC override in .50 cal mode.

...

I just let the A1 TC do the gunning.. hits are accurate and doesn't waste ammo..

in regards to the 50 cal.
