Hi
I'm a noob to all this, i'm usually a propeller head. I was clicking around on SimHQ one day and it lead me here. I bought Pro PE because of what I saw and read on this forum, so its quite a steep learning curve.
Excellent Sim!!
I have a couple of questions if any one can help:
I'm trying out the "Steinbach Ambush" mission and want to split my plattoon into 2 fire teams, one to 'meet and greet' at the front and the other to left flank. I can split them once the mission starts but I cannot split them in the orders phase and give them 2 different movement orders/objectives, which is what I want to do.
also
I'm in the TC position and slew the gun by pressing joystick button3 or 'p' but if there are no targets close the gun slews round but I also start to move forward. Does anyone know why I move forward?

you cannot split your units in the planning phase. you couldn't in SB1 either. I'm guessing that the tank moves forward to find a hull down position.Either that or it has a shit LOS and moves forward to get a better view.I'm wondering if it interprets you slewing the gun as an engage order to the gunner and the gunner and driver are then following standard protocols as determined by the AI, is my guess.

Three way to do this:

In the planning phase, move the platoon to an appropriate place in the deployment zone, give the platoon the route that you want one section to take, and start the other route with a waypoint close enough to the platoon that you can connect the other section to it once you've divided the platoon in the action phase;

Go into the mission editor and modify the scenario to your tastes;

Load up the attached version of the scenario, in which I've divided the platoon into two sections for you.

cool, thanks for the info and the new version of Ambush, just tried it and the buggers called arty on me, they never did that before, I wondered what it was. LOL.

I'll have another look at the TC problem, It happened on the M1A1 TC training mission where your just engaging moving targets to your front. the gunner was not zoomed in(he had just zoomed out after taking out a bmp) and no target was in the sight. I slewed the gun and we moved forwards. I had to press s to stop or we would have in amongst the targets, it happened a couple of times.
