I'm still not finished with my template. I just don't have alot of time, and I'm kinda getting burnt out on it alittle. So I'm gona push this one out anyway, its missing some things, but still looks cool.

Its uploaded, has new tracks + the skin in 3 resolutions. I hope you guys like it. It would have looked alot better if I had waited.

The tow cables are missing, they are a pretty complex item, and it's going to take awhile for me to get them just right.

Also some minor details to the turrent roof are missing, aswell as a new Turrent Roof texture. The defualt one is pretty close, so it will have to do for now.

Really nice.

But please don't make SB PPE too beautiful, it could attract "gamers". ;)

Thanks guys, I think its more of "I know how to take a good screenshot" than anything :)

Hackworth, you know how long I've been working on this template. Thats all it takes guys. Plus 2048 :) That does alot, that much more detail.

Someone should as dejawolf if he did any of his orgionals in Higher resolutions. And shunk them down to 512.

Yes Shane, I've always planned to do that. It won't be much longer, then I'll upload it too. Just need alittle break.

That third pic is very realistic! <ducks for cover>

Sweet skin RS, definately a must have. Those are about the most realistic screenies I've seen! The first two that is ;)

nice one there, hehe, i know the feeling. its usually worse when you have done the model, the UV map, the texture, and all 4 camo schemes, plus the TIS texture, and the LODS, and then on top of that, the interior model+ turret roof. 8)
i always do things true res, working with a single pixel brush, then roughing up the edges a bit, with burn or dodge tools, so no high res maps.

Im a 1-35 scale plastic modeller and I can honestly say If I airbrushed one as good as that I would be well proud! Very nice work indeed, it make an excellent compliment to Vipers Winter M1 scheme.

Thanks all you guys.

Once I finish this template, and release 2 more skins, I have another vehicle or 2 I'd like to skin. The T-72, and the LAV-25. But its going to be awhile.

Are most of you guys running the 2048 texture? It has no effect on my game, mybe a sec more on the loading time.

I did'nt even bother to look at the lower res ones ingame.

I use the 1024, dont want to load my comp with more because I have FPS issues...

Scorpius

I've been using the 2048 with no problems. I'd like to skin some of the 113 based vehicles so that I have a decent Nato skin for all bluefor.

I ran the 2048 through the Abrams intro in the tutorials section, and it seemed to have no effect. Great stuff; thanks!

Hmm. I took that photo in Ft Knox. Where did you find it out of interest?

I really must consider watermarking my piccies.

you linked them on TS, I could'nt remember who it was that did it. :)

Thats the only one I saved anyway.

well, put simply: 1 2048 isn't going to have an impact. however, if every vehicle in the game got a 2048, you might start to experience sudden slowdowns, as the system allocates cached ram for more textures.
so if you're going to use multiple 2048's, make sure to have enough system ram.
a 2048x2048 takes 16 times as much memory as a 512x512.
which means,
10 different vehicle models with a 2048 texture would use 120mb of ram,
while 10 vehicle models with a 512 texture uses 7.62mb of ram.
