Well, there is always the "official" route, using army training materials. Not exactly basic, but pretty straightforward.
If you are interested in US applications, try:
FM 3-90: Tactics (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/3-90/index.html)
FM 71-1: Tank and Mechanized Infantry Company Team (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/71-1/index.html)
FM 71-2: The Tank and Mechanized Infantry Battalion Task Force (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/71-2/index.html)
FM 71-123: Tactics and Techniques for Combined Arms Heavy Forces: Armored Brigade, Battalion Task Force, and Company Team (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/71-123/index.html)
FM 3-06.11: Combined Arms Operations in Urban Terrain (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/3-06-11/index.html)
Many of the techniques don't apply directly to Steel Beasts, but the concepts usually do. 3-90 is very handy in that it talks about tactics in general, rather than specific types of units or formations.

You could read all the training pamplets or you could employ this baisc princple to get you going.
SOSRA (Suppress, Obscure, Secure, Reduce, Assault) - typically used for the conduct of breaching, but a good method to use for urban and most other offensive actions. Arty will neutralise, obscure, suppress and at times destroy. Ensure enemy is suppressed/decieved/ fixed to allow you to maneouvre OUT of contact. Use ISR early and deep to get info on enemy prior to movement of mainbody or committing your main effort. Also use ISR on flank to provide you with early warning. Keep a reserve to allow you to react to unexpected.

The principle for combined arms is to combine different needed forces depending on mission, terrain and enemy.
Combined arms on company level could be to have tanks, mechanized rifle and engineers in suitable mix. They must be able to fight in close cooperation, well aware of the "wing mate" strong and weak features.
For example, the infantry and IFV:s can keep the enemy infantry away from your tanks and your tanks can blow away enemy infantry in protected and fortified buildings before your infantry enter the blocks.
For urban/wooded areas you mix one tank company (four tank platoons) and one mech inf company (four mech inf platoons) to two "company battle groups" with two tank and two mech inf platoons each. If you have engineers you could split them to the companyBG.
If you have areas with some buildings/some wooded area you could have a tank company with three tank platoons and one mech inf platoon anf then mech inf company with three mech inf platoons and one tank platoon.
You can, depending on the training level and experiences of the commanders and units, also form platoons into "battle groups". You assign 1-3 tanks to support one mech inf platoon and make same with 1-3 IFV:s assigned to one tank platoon.
Inside urban or wooded areas, you must also form some "battle groups" around your company commander, 2iC, forward observer vehicle and other support vehicles, so they are protected and can fight as well.
