i got adobe photoshop 7.0 and i wanna make my own sky textures.how do you make them?

Kai's Power tools has a plug-in that makes decent skies. Others here are using Vue and Bryce and such to render skies becuase it takes a LOT less time and work to get a fairly photorealistic sky.

You can make them from scratch in Photoshop by experimenting with the gradents and airbrushing some wispy clouds.

in photoshop i noticed theres a "clouds" select.but when i choose it and change the layers i don't always get what i want
