hey all,

I'm still hanging on to buy the game.

First off, Im a HUGE armour/military fan.....I've played ASL for 25 years, own almost every real tank sim ever made, made a ton of tamiya models ect...since I was 12 years old (37 now)

I haven't bought PRO becuz I was worried of the lack of urban graphics and the price.

Yesterday I saw a review with some urban pics that actually looked pretty cool.

So, from those of you who own it, are they good or bad? is it worth my while to buy this training tool or should I wait for the 2007 Civvy version of Steel beats?

I would lie if I write that SB PPE handles the cities properly.

There is much to be done in this area, and it's hard work as no sim ever handled this environment in a realistic way.

Anyway, some missions like Al Nassyria (in Iraq) are quite immersive and, if the infantry RPG were not so powerful, it made me a great impression on the SB capabilities.

The price is what it is, but SB PPE is clearly the best tank sim ever made for domestic computers.

If you want a super urban combat sim, SB won't do it, but no sim will be able to do better. You can wait for SB2, but eSim is not known for sticking to the announced release dates. If you wait, you risk to wait much longer than one year.

I'm with 12Alfa. It is your patriotic duty to buy SBPE.

As far as the urban environments go, yeah they're a bit cruddy; my personal favourite is rolling into a German town exclusively featuring shops with Arabic signage and "Saddam was here" graffitti.

Nonetheless, this is a fantastic sim, and really a bargain at the price. Anyhow, tanks should avoid cities at all costs. Bad things happen to tanks in cities.

You won't regret it. The price tag shocked me originally but after playing the original version and checking out the community here (along with convincing Household-6) I went for it. I have never looked back. DO IT

...I've played ASL for 25 years...Yahoo! another ASLer. We should get a VASL match going. After I dump about fifteen prior commitments.
