I've just tried out the new patch - and it really seems to work. My tank got 3 direct RPG hits to the front, but didn't even schratched it.

Damn! seems like its time for me to start complaining that the RPG is undermodelled now! ;)

Is it me or is the Abrams tougher against more than just RPG's now? Anyone else seen this? I am going to play against a horde of T-80Us tomorrow at Point Alpha and put this to the test for sure.

I also got the impression that the tanks were a little more robust after playing a few scenarios after patching - don't know if I just got lucky or something, but they did feel tougher.

I'm glad.

I didn't like constantly recieving 'one hit kill' shots. Even if that's realistic, it certainly takes away some of the fun of playing. I don't mind taking hits and damage, but give me a fighting chance....

Naw, they were dying just fine last night. (at my hands, muahaha, lol). Perhaps it was that your units weren't taking so many losses from the nasty INF that made your M-1's seem more stout.

This isn't supposed to be fun... fun costs $19.95. ;)

How did you manage to let the grunts get behind you and take those shots?

Was playin' the new Thunderrun scenario. It's a good one!

Cobra, I do remember a big discussion at TankNet a year ago when an RPG 7 penetrated the side skirts and hull and almost hurt a gunner as it went through his seat, into the fire control computer and other vital electronics.

The insurgents must have Kornet missiles!!!

Nope. Just a plain vanilla RPG-7.

Now, I don't know if the scenario that you were playing had bigger guns for the dismounts - RPG-29, anyone? For an RPG-7 it probably was a lucky punch, I grant you that - but not impossible.

The dismounts in this sceanario are supposed to have only RPG22s. There are no RPG-7s available in SBPPE. There is an RPG-7L listed that seems to have superior capabilities to the RPG22.

Unless the troops that come with BMP1s deployed in the scenario have an advanced RPG. It is not possible to designate their loadouts in the scenario editor, and perhaps they have an advanced RPG as the default.

Hey Nils, were the AAR rays improved in the latest patch?

Not beyond what was fixed for 2.262 (at least not according to what Al wrote in the version history - which is not always complete).
