Looks like the Gaza Strip is about to brew up again...Do we have any maps of that area?
I guess you can use google earth if you want to.

What, height maps? Or real maps?
Yes I made a height map of Gaza, not started on the insanely complex .ter for it though.. It didnt make it onto the disk for Pro.
I think sSnake prefers that it be saved for SB2, so I have to respect his wish on that. Besides It will take until then to get it done....

Am I correct in saying that Ssnake previously reported any advances/ additions developed for SB2 would also find its way into SB Pro P.E.???
If so, bring on the Map goodieness!!!

ohh man... the Suez canal was supposed to be available in proPE too, and the Golan map takes forever to load.
by the way if your gonna make the ter map from Google earth or any other source that dated before November 2006 - remember to remove all the trees 1.5 KM from the fance in the north of gaze, and all the homes that have red roofs in the south (gosh katif)
as far as I remember, the Gaza strip map is rather boring: flat land with lots of houses.
since you can't knock down houses with bulldozers, or insert infantry to key buildings, there's very little for a tank battalion or infantry to do there in SB.
hopefully there will be at least some of these features in the future... It will take quite a while yet to get more buildings, destructible buildings, infantry that can occupy upper floors and other stuff. hopefully the map will be ready concurrently to the release of these features...

So... Are you saying we won't see Gaza, new urban environments, civilians/terrorists, and brighter infantry until 2009?

What Gaza in 48 hours it's going to be flattened as in flat.
storm, don't exagerate.
anyway, what you're saying can become political in a heartbeat, so let's refrain from keeping this line of conversation.

The Bible code says 2-4 august 2006 Israel will be nuked syria and iran with fighting in the streets with Hamas. Next we nuke syria and iran, then china nukes via their navy (I believe shipping containers). China has a lot of inland ports like the one here Port Dallas in Dallas, TX.

Look, I am NOT a spokesman for E-sim. I cant say what WILL happen, or when. I dont THINK we will have to wait until 2009. We have several decent urban terrains now, Ft Hood Texas is complete. Ft Polk is now complete, and should be on the site soon if it isnt already. Wahrborg is doing an outstanding map of Bosnia which promises to outdo any of the others as far as dense European cityscape, but I dont know when it will be done. Try them out. We cant do downtown Seoul, or Gaza right now because we dont have high buildings. Hang on, The really good stuff will be forthcoming,....I think...

And the Lord of the Rings trilogy says Sauron will almost conquer middle earth.
But since both are works of fiction, we're ok.

Actually, while the strip itself really is flat and mostly urbanized (and thus, in SB - boring), the area around it is just beautifull tank country with rolling hills, woods and the ocasional kibutz or moshav which SB simulates pretty well. So basically, there's a need for a cow addon to the game :)
