G'day all.

I'm looking for personal experiances from military users of Combined Arms Tactical Trainers. This is why.

We have a generic requirement for a CATT.

We cannot afford the traditional solution.

I have consensus that Steel Beasts based solution is a suitable approach.

We need something more than a desktop solution.

The focus of the training is on vehicle crew commanders, platoon commanders and the company command.

We know that we need a degree of "stuff" to immerse the crew members so they act as they would in real life (ie physical interface stuff, and visuals).

I'm unsure of how much "stuff" we need, or can afford.

We are going to trial the requirement.

But I'm interested in peoples experiances so my trial system is in the ball park.

We may either build partial interiors, or use VR goggles (with some physical interface) or a mix.

We have gunnery trainers, we want someting less than a AGTS/UCOFT and more than a desktop trainer.

I'm particularily interested in the minimum level of interfaces required, especially for the M1 (which I personally haven't experianced yet).

If you don't want to post in an open forum then either use the military forum (if you have access) or email me at:

robert.carpenter@defence.gov.au (which I won't see for a few days)

jrcar at iinet net au (which I'll see right away)

Cheers

Are (US) CCTT experiences valid, too?

This sounds very much like our approach and use of SB in the danish army, do you have access to the PRO forums?
If not, you can contact me via mail.

Yes CCTT experiance is also what I'm after.

Johnny I do, and I'm very interested in discussing it with you further. We are using some video of your systems to help show people what we mean.

Cheers
