Good point Enrage... lol.

Those extra track links look like they are about to fall on that guy's head. And he's holding his fingers up saying, "this is how tall I will be after those tracks hit my head."

I really want to here the comm chatter from 5 seconds before to 5 seconds after. I bet most of it would be unprintable in this forum.

Naw, probably of a more accusatory form Cobra ;) the driver blaming the TC for his directions and the TC blaming the driver for obvious reasons... I've been there, lol.

At least they traversed off to save the gun, as opposed to ....

In fact that whole site is full of pictures that would probably make the investigating officer scratch his head.

Jeepers! That site is a real bag of tank misery! Some of them are baffling - like #5 - 2 Challengers on what looks like an open field, one's thrown a track, the others upside down!?! Did they hit each other or something!? And what happens to the crew in all those upside down tanks? Do they just sit there until rescued? Or can they get out? One Leo was upside down in a pond, so I can't see them swimming/digging their way out!?

All I can say is some of those things look extremely painful, if not outright fatal!

P.S. Then I see #4, where two Challenger *did* just drive into each other!
And that Merkava in #23! I reckon the crew feel reeeeaaally lucky it didn't roll any further down that cliff!

The upside down Leo, remained in tht position for 6hours. Everyone but the loader got out directly, he was stuck between the cannon and the floor.

The reason for the Chally accident is probably indicated by the position of the turret and the commanders viewer, both pointed away from the tank they ran into. Highly likely someone was picking their nose when they should have been paying attention.

The one I don’t get is No.5 where the Chally has rolled on what looks like a pretty flat bit of Salisbury Plain.

Not even on a battle run (based on the muzzle cover still fitted).

The M1 upside down in the little gully looks like the would have problems with a rescue. The protocol on an M1 is to traverse, or in this case rotate the hull so the gun is pointed to the rear. Then you can access the drivers compartment from the turret and escape from the drivers hatch, which is off the ground. However, it doesn't look like they had enough room in there to rotate the hull. And how who something pull them out? I don't know of anything that could lift it out, and the ground around it doesn't look all that stable.

Yet more proof the M-60 was a far better tank ;) The had a hatch on the bottom. Great for turnovers, plus you could take a leak without having to climb out.

It was at the training facility at Suffield in Canada. Its actually the same as the previous shot, just after they extricated one of the Challengers (you can see the other in the background). For some reason to get it out they had to flip it on its back. Bet that was expensive to fix...
