Can we please, pretty please, get the AI TC inability to choose right ammo for the situation fixed somehow? I cannot count anymore how he had forced HEAT in the situation when it is a suicide to do so.

I understand that getting AI TC to be aware of surrounding (enemy & terrain) is not a trivial task to do, so can we get some options to override TC decision tree from the pull down menu? Like TC ammo selection ON/OFF, TC gunner override ON/OFF, etc.

Also it would be very good to have TC call some azimuth indication of targets and not only be able to override the turret. I really miss this... azimuth and some range estimation, as it is not so uncommon, that I am pressing 'cannot identify' w/o any effect.

Well you can do 2 thinks at the moment Go to the tc posistion and override and and choose what ammo and the shooting yourself . Also you couls choose the ammo and let the AI do the shooting.

And you can change round in the gun.

So that TC screams again "fire, fire HEAT"... not to mention time lost to do all that

I havn't had any problems with this, when he sees a tank he loads a sabot, when he sees a IFV/APC or dismounts he loads a HEAT. When he can't see he loads whats already fired, and here you have time to jump into TC pos and order another round to be loaded.

Regardless, I understand what Vati is getting at. Having the ability to at least back down and change the battlecarry in between engagements would be nice. More than once I've popped a couple of BMPs' only to die to a T-80 that shrugged off the HEAT round loaded in the tube!

I used the left/right arrow keys for this. It gets the tube and gunner in the general direction and he will pick up the trg in no time. Sometimes I move the tank also to fine tune my turret.

Have you ever tried backing down, enter TC and press the button for whatever round you wish, and see what happens?

Would the Tc only pick the most dangerous threat at the time.I,ve been gunner,he picks a T80 at distance then suddenly slews the turret to pick up a BTR that suddenly hops over a ridge next to you.Best bet is to listen to the loader and fire what he has loaded. The Tc would have picked Sabot for the T80 and thats what would have been loaded by the loader.I would put the Sabot through the BTR than wait till the HEAT round gets loaded if the Apc is that dangerous a threat.

The biggest problem w/ HEAT I have is that TC doesnt care what is between our tank and enemy. Countless times he cried for HEAT when the enemy armor was in heavy dense tree area for example.

Hehe flyboy.. yep.. that's the one of my favorites as well, when TC pulls you off the tank to engage BTR, just so that our tank is blown up :D What had happened to target threat priority list?

12Alfa, I do that too as a TC, however I was speaking of being in gunner position, while AI TC only mentions target w/o any other info, and requesting turret slew ("cannot identify") results in nothing.

I would love an option to disable him all together. I've suddenly pulled left or right into the forest before, just to kill him. :)

Its not that what he does is bad, or theirs no way to counter what he does. Its the fact that alot of the time their is just no time to counter it. You have to shoot, not hit t, ctrl, shoot... Those few seconds, or second, can mean life and death in MP.

Trekker of course your right, but I guess too many years as a gunner on "command" tanks has spoiled me. Being able to say 'On the way, load HEAT/Sabot" while the LT screws with the radio is so liberating... :)

"I would love an option to disable him all together."..LoL it,s called a pistol whip.A lot of people forget the one thing that is true in real life combat and in sims..And that is "Luck".Sometimes you have it,sometimes you don,t.Be thankfull that it is a sim and when you get hit the only thing that gets hurt is your pride.Best way to live is to train, practice, practice and more practice..You have to think ahead of your trigger finger. What did the loader say, have I got that round indexed,do I have to select first or last return,do I allow for windage, where are the other enemy tanks,is that artie I hear, what is the Tc looking at,is it a threat I am is aware of,are my wingmen covering me,where are they??.......Fight hard and fight smart.

LMAO, on-spot Nepi..

Learning to "hear the TC's ammo call-outs" while in the gunners slot, is a must, and as mentioned, can be quickly over-ridden, by a quick jump into the TC slot and then hitting either delete or insert key, then jump back into the gunners slot, take the shot, and keep your ears open, always.
