Perhaps I am missing something, how does one go about using the top mounted .50 cal and MG3 machine guns?

Is it possible?

On the abrams, yes. It is possiable. From the comanders position hit F3.

Neg, the the Loaders M240, and neg on the leo.

You can man the 50's on the other nato APC's though. M113, hummer etc.

Too bad about the MG3, I wonder how much it differs from firing an infantry MG3.
Must be nice having it vehicle mounted, hauling around one of those and ammo is a total pain in the ass when you are on foot.
Accurate though :)

...well, from vehicle mount (Drehringlafette) it's allmost too easy.
You don't have to fight recoil and of course you don't have to carry 12,5+ammo ;-)

I like the automated mount as used on the Dingo/Fennek even more.
You can easily engage targets at 800...and you don't have to stick your head out!!

The .50 cal on APC's is great fun when pushing your column through trees.

Lead APC was destroyed by an RPG from some troops hidden in amush in the woods.

I jumped into the .50 and scanned around. Then all of a sudden a troop jumps up no more than 20 meters from my apc right where my .50 cal wa pointing.

All i can say is, bsides lumping my duds by this figure "jumping out of nowhere", i pummeled him with a panich stricken 25 rounds of .50.

The panick was replaced by sheer pleasure as the barking sound of the gun reverberated in my headphones and the sight of the body falling to the ground.

Fantastic.
