Is somebody currently working on new buildings etc, to add into SB?
Is there a chance to include Hesco-baskets?
Would be nice to "make" fieldcamps in the terrain-editor...

I second this one! I was showing a map with a pair of FOBs I'm working on to an old friend when he mentioned if there were Hesco-Bastions available for field fortifications. Alas there aren't, but perhaps in the future? Nuge nuge, wink wink...;)

I think it has been mentioned that they'd like to add more object and buildings to the sim.
We'd like to, but theres some technical roadblocks to overcome first...

Forget about new buildings, how about making the ones we have crumble, fall down, or collapse after and artillery strike...And "PLEASE: do not over look the common sense that a tank versus a building engagement that the tank usually wins...

But to do that, they would have to create new objects. I think the present ones are created as solid blocks, and presumably would be difficult to animate in such a way.
On the other hand, it IS a good idea to have demolishable buildings. I remember in panzer elite you could slowly demolish a building and infantry could hide among its remains. There was also something similar in soldner (one of its few good points) where a particular round (say 7.62mm) could penetrate and damage interior walls, but other rounds (such as 9mm) could not. Not sure if they will ever go for that, but it would be nice to see.

Agreed, these are some excellent skins. In fact, the red brick building there is a dead ringer for a smashed up one Ive seen on a British army training range. :)

I was toying with doing a Letzlinger Heide map before I started on my Salisbury plain one. I gave up in the end when I couldnt find any decent maps of the place. Best of luck to you, I know how hard mapping projects are.Im curious, what is the quality of the height map you are using?
That will be a seriously awesome place to get to grips with the T72 when it is eventually included. :)

After 4 times training at the GÜZ, as we called it, there were some original Maps left....... but its hard to find the right way.
The Highmap was build by Lupus in 15 x compression and is sadly not verry correct.
Im missing most of the "High Points", like lokal Hills and ditches too.
The original hgts that comes with ProPE are much more detailed???
The good old "ditching tool" from SB 1 is missing!

Actually, if import an old map from SB1 into SBpro the ditches still appear, so its not totally gone. Im optimistic I will make it back one day, I for one would welcome it to iron out problems in my map.
I cant speak for the rest of the maps, but the Salisbury plain one apparently uses 90 metre post data (ie it measures positions 90 metres apart). This DOES remove small ditches, culverts and sunken roads (one reason I want the ditch tool back some day) but it appears to include a compound curve, so that in many cases the high spots appear fairly accurate. Ive driven around the actual area and occasionally am deeply surprised how accurate the basic height map data was, particularly as it was free!
I was working on a map of Ludwigslust based on an old SB1 height map (the data for what was a small 20 kilometre wide area looked fairly good). I shall have to release that one sometime.
