I have just uploaded my latest M1A1 woodland skin. This one is based on the excellent RogueSnake's template, with Dejawolf's default camo pattern.
All credits to this skin go to RogueSnake and Dejawolf, as I merely mixed up their work together. I hope everyone to enjoy it as much as I did.

No insult intended . But its a stock sbp skin with thermal plates on it and a rope on the gear .

Stock camo oscar, thats it. Every thing else except the 50cal, and m240 have been completly redone.
I like what you've done Fab.

No offense taken, but it is not "a stock sbp skin with thermal plates on it and a rope on the gear". Only the camo pattern is the original - because I like it - but the skin is based on RogueSnake's template which is a whole new tank.
My intention was precisely to have Dejawolf's camo scheme on RogueSnake's skin.
Some like it, others don't. That's why we have (as today) 138 skins to choose from. :)

OK. That's my latest WIP with RogueSnake's template - the camo pattern is the standard woodland pattern, *but it was completely redone*, as I've decided to rebuilt the version 2.2 with the new template - and I am pleased with the results. So far, seems I am on the track to a much improved M1A1...
So, I thought it would be a nice idea to post some screenshots of the skin as it is now, and would like to hear (constructive) comments on this one.
Please accept my apologies for the low quality of the pics - I have a crappy (by SBProPE standards) video card, but it is next on the to do list...:)
I sincerely hope everyone that likes the standard woodland pattern will like this skin, as it is based on the new M1 template by RogueSnake (which, as always, is awesome), with a remake of the default woodland camo, revised tracks, and the best erfforts of yours truly to deliver a M1A1 skin that means business...:clin:

This version will include two skins for each resolution - 2048, 1024, and 512.
The skins are: one "dry' version - more dust, and dry mud; and a "wet" version, with less dust and more fresh mud. The "dry" version is lighter, the "wet" is a bit darker...
WinRAR is a wonderful program. I managed to get the two skins to fit into one package and at an acceptable size, too! :)
I hope everybody will enjoy this last release. All credits go first and foremost to RogueSnake, for the excellent template (which is the very base for all my work) and for supporting my efforts; and to Dejawolf, for the basic woodland camo pattern (although this one was redone).
Very special thanks to Scorpius, for his kind support and encouragement.
Screenshots below - the first two are the "dry" skin, the last two are the "wet" skin:

You are right and I agree with you.
Let's see if I can show you exactly what I'm trying to do - as I want comments and suggestions from all of you, so I can get where I want .
I am posting three screenshots and the photo that's is my "objective" - this is my favorite photo of a M1A1, and I am trying not to make an exact copy, but to get at something that looks good in SBProPe and still being close to that look.
I haven't decided yet if I will include the Thermal ID panels and the MILES strips - I am inclined to make this one without both of them... We'll see...
Ok, here are the screenies and the photo:

hmm.. the dirt needs a lot more variation. when you drive through mudponds and such, and the mud is wet, it starts flowing down the side like water, leaving lines of dirt in their wake, gathering up a bit at the bottom, and in every crease and groove possible. there should also be a spatter pattern of light dirt gathering up. to make things interesting, you can have a combination of wet and dry mud. the dry mud would be a pretty light sand, depending on what mud has gathered up (for australia, the mud is actually reddish)
the wet mud would be a chocolate brown, and any dry mud that just got spattered with specks of water would be something inbetween.
another thing to note, the mud buildup is reduced, the higher up on the vehicle you get. around the track area, the mud is usually so thick that its clumping up around the tracks, and skirts, while on the roof, theres relatively little buildup.
might be bootprints, or such from crewmembers walking about, and the hatch ring area might be brushed about a bit, from the tc turning around in his hatch.

And (shame on me) I already had it in my Skins folder...
Pretty good - cool Leo2 Panzer Gray, Scorp! See, what I'm planning to do is a major overhaul on a 2048 template for a more detailed Leo 2A4. I've chosen the Panzer Gray because I feel that new details will stand out more than in a standard woodland or in a WW2 Tiger-style camo pattern... Anyway, I'm taking a long shot on this one, as what I want to to is well above my skills and I'll have to learn as I do. Time will tell... :)

Thank you so much, sir! :)
Actually, your Woodland 2.0, is the absolutely TOP M1 woodland skin available IMO. I still look at it every day (as I use it as default for playing), and can't see how could it be any better. I love it to no end.
This skin was meant to be an overhaul on my old woodland 2.2, with one main feature - the Woodland 2.0 type of using dirt on the tank.
As it came out, the mud was the catch on this one, and also the reason I delayed this one, fearing ppl would find it "too much"... I almost dumped it as one more training effort.
After you released your Winter 1.0 skin - a most realistic and impressive one - you again raised the bar some more, and this gave me the push I needed to upload this one.
I hope all our SBProPE mates will find it an interesting addition to their M1 skin collection.

Another dirty tank! Magnificent! You guys have figured out they don't really look like they just came off the wash rack when they're in the field churning up dirt :)
I remember my first commander at Fort Riley, Kansas (I won't tell you what year but dinosaurs were still roaming the downrange area) telling me: "This is the only place where you can be ass deep in mud and still have dust blowing in your face!" That's just what your tank looks like, Fab!
Now, if you'd just dirty up some Bradleys, us Yanks will be in business!
Thanks, FF!

Unfortunately, nobody is perfect... The 1024 and 512 res versions of the uploaded Dirty Bradley are NOT the final version, but a previous testing one. This was a result of my focus on the 2048 res - in fact, I do all my skins in 2048 first.
So, I'm attaching a patch here, so anyone can download it at once. Next, I will update the full file at the downloads section.
If you use only the 2048 res, you're ok. If you use either the 1024 or 512 resolutions, you can download the patch, or resize the 2048 bitmap, if you are familiar with graphics applications.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing.

Stewy - Excellent links. Downloaded ALL Leo photos, for reference. Thanks, the rego plate will look nice on the Leo. By the way, as I had stated before, I'll do it. What happens now is the template isn't done yet. Once this is ready for release, the painting, etc. can be done relatively quick.
Now, the schedule for the Leo 2A4 is: 1. Finishing the template; 2. Doing a woodland and a desert skins (this is partly done); 3. Doing an Austrian Army skin. I can't say when this skin will be released, but at least you've got the general idea. :clin:
Actually, this skin (the Leo 2A4) is part of my woodland project - making skins for most US and GE vehicles using the same woodland pattern. The pics below will give you an idea of the Leopard 2A4 skin development and how I see the integrated woodland project coming.

Scorp - I'm glad you liked the idea of common Woodland camo - I'm slowly moving forward - The M1A1 is the only ready. The Leo 2A4 is the big baby right now. I'm not putting much time into the A5, as RogueSnake is building a new template for it, and everything is gonna change after he releases it. Partly done (in various degrees): the M2A2 Bradley, the Marder 1A3, and the Jaguar 1. The M113 (various configs) is partly done, but I don't like any of them - probably will redone them from scratch.
Stewy - Your Leo 2A4 (Austrian Army) will be done. Just keep tuned, mate.;-)

Yes, they are, KT. Those are early testing versions, and I happen to like them big (Wehrmacht style) so... I just couldn't help myself... :clin:
Anyway, when and if those skins are released, they will sport the standard Bundeswehr markings (i.e. Normal sized crosses). :)

but if you aim to make a more swedish like desert paint for the strv 122 it should look somthing closer to this pic...

the pic btw shows a CV90 based twin barrel 120mm mortar wich is to enter service at around 2010, i guess Mats could tell more if anyone likes to hear it since itīs Markstridsskolan (Ground combat school) who plays with it currently...

So maybe a Strv122 in a desert camo could look something like this:

i could tell you that it has a 12 round MRSI capability (means, it puts 12 rounds on the target that lands almost at the same time... maybe 1-2 seconds between the first and last round....)
i think there is a couple of clips on youtube of it...
search for AMOS or SSG120
it´s a joint swedish-finnish project..
oh, and that is a lovely looking desert strv 122 :)

I've just uploaded yet another update for my M1A1 2.2 Dirty . Modifications include revised commander's and loader's hatches, a new track that looks much better (muddy as hell), and a new camo scheme (which doesn't show that much under all that dirt, but solved the problem of the Thermal ID on the front turret looking too much lighter), and other such details that were annoying me. :clin: I hope everyone will like this one...
Credits go to RogueSnake, for the wonderful template; and to Scorpius, for the loader's hatch.

Yep. He did much better with the bumper markings, than with the "Green Hornet" tanker uniform he designed...:) Only one little thingie... The release version doesn't have the bumper markings... I still need to do some modifications, so it will look really good... Sorry about that...

Hi, Scorp! I'm happy you liked it. Hell, I can't either. That's why I had to do another one. But that didn't work. I'm still switching main gun sounds... :debile2:
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could assign different main gun sounds to different tanks? One for the Abrams, one for the Leo, one for the T-80U...
Besides great FUN, it would be useful, too. You would be capable to know who is shooting at you by the sound of the gun...

Thats a great main gun sound I reckon. It's also not quite as vicious as the old one (which normally made me fall off my chair when I got hit out of the blue!), so it's beneficial to my health too!

Ahh, a new M1. I've been working on the leo off and on.
Since Deja released that updated file for the Mg's, I decided to finally fix the ones on the M1 or (update) them. I had been waiting for this. Plus, I never really finished my M1 template to start with. I just got tired of looking at it.

Well, the Leo2A4 pack is already updated. Should be available soon.
This pack includes: Bundeswehr Leo 2 (woodland, winter, and desert); Bundesheer Leo2; and the Norwegian Leo 2. Also included a new track (woodland) in this pack. I can't thank Stewy enough for his enthusiasm, and for his great ideas and collaboration on the development of those skins.
However, those are still unfinished skins, there are many things yet to be done, such as the always requested DIRT. But they sure look good...
