Changes:

Difficulty adjusted so that the scenario can be more authentic, enjoyable and playable in single player mode. The player is now able the select Difficulty during the mission. (Normal or Hard mode) see the briefing for details.

This scenario depicts the "Thunder run" of 5th April 2003 in Baghdad along Highway 8. Just put the *.sce file to "My scenarios" folder & enjoy. I've also made an ambient file for the scenario - Its up to you wheter you want to use it or not (look for it in the mods section). It took me quite a few months to make this mission&terrian, but I hope it was worth it.

I've also attached the terrain file hat I made for this mission (its not necessary to use it because its already embeded in the *.sce file) in case somedy else wants to work with it/expand it later.

Have fun, cheers:

Thanks Daskal! Still getting battered by RPG's, BMP ATGM's and the occasional T-72 KE, but at least the mission is doable now. Got through with about 70% of the convoy last night :)

RPG's definately need to be toned down still in this game. I am getting M1A1's and Bradleys destroyed repeatedly by single rounds to side armour on M1A1's and front and side armour on Bradley's. I even had one RPG go through the wheels one side, under the chassis, and out through the wheels on the other side of an M1A1 and it was claimed destroyed !!

Ditto. The update is a big improvement but those RPGs still are overdone (over modeled I think) even in the "normal" mode. I went through it in mission editor and thinned them out considerably (along with a lot of other stuff for FPS reasons; I was dropping into single digits in some places). But I'm still losing lots of vehicles (remember, in RL they lost only one).

Still having problems with vehicles bunching up. Made all the spacing wide and put the first four platoons 2 Km ahead of the rest at the start but they still bunched up (happens in real life convoys, too, of course). Invariably, the ambulance (which none of the AI will shoot at) beats everyone to the airport :). I'm considering using just the four lead platoons.

This is REALLY a GREAT mission. The work that went into the terrain is awesome. Super immersion through the whole route. It play for well over an hour and every minute is intense.

The, uh, (I hate this term) "gameplay" still needs some more tweaking, though.

S!

Played it, too. But did it my way, that is individual unit nhandling, slow approach, overwatching. Plays nice that way, but takes too much time. Lost one tank, one truck, but the majority of vehicles damaged. It should be split into two missions, maybe, since the sim has no save game feature. 5 hours + in a row is a bit much. :) gave up after 70% of the mission done.
