when i tryed out the CV9040B in SB Pro i could spend up to 4 rounds in the side at 300m before it was knocked out.

guess its all depends on where you hit...

For you as a Tank Pro: Don`t you think a Rocket launcher (like the BMP 2) could be a useful enhancement for the CV90? I mean BMP 1, BMP 2, BMP 3, even the T80 can fire missiles...

Wouldnt that depend on if you are proud of it or not?

On my regiment we had some ugly fights betweeen tank and Mech comp, along with harrasment and stuff like that. But im proud of being mech infantry so im not afraid of advertesing that! :)

We talking 40 mm grenade launcher? No way in hell your penetrating T-72 armor with that.Might blow out a tank track or blow Gunner's sight mirror,or even kill the TC when he's out of the hatch<shrapnel kill>,possiblly wounding the gunner by chance-= but that's a total snafu op or a precise sniper kill.

Me i would pull back & engage with a better weapon system.:)

No we are not talking about 40mm grenade launcher, in what world have you been last few months?

we are talking 40mm Bofors gun L/70 with APFSDS doing 1465 meters/second.

the T-72s side is no problem for it at all...

totally agree with you, especially in swedish battalions where we have 2 tank and 2 mech companys that always work together.

However there always seems to be that fight between, I think its like between 2 brothers, they fight and argue as hell, but when it comes down to the point they defend eachother to death.

Hell, the Leo and Cougar guys would get into punchups - same regiment even.

Here is what I think based on my experiences with the CV9040 in SB Pro sofar: The KE rounds of the CV90 will not be take out a tank from the front. However it proves to be quite effective from the side and the rear. Usually one or two KE rounds are enough to kill a T-72 from the side (it even pops off the turret most of the time) in an engagement range of about 1000 - 1500 meters.

You should be able to take out T-72 from the front by aiming at the gun shield and the coax port. Can't remember how thick the lower frontal hull plate was, but you might be able to achieve a KO by shooting there as well.

It's not a rumor-it's a fact if you can get a particular angle pref ass shot or 45 degree angle from the rear.I still have the tip of a 25 mm rd that penetrated up to one foot of M1a1 turret armor.The tankers gave it to me as a gift in a hot refuel.I saw the hole hard to describe unless you had a metal coat hangar& put it in the hole to measure the degrees of penetration.There is alot of propaganda/bullshit about DS.The tanks got there kills but the m2 actually killed and engaged more especially if you count personnel among the kia's.

Another MFKER in the war was the MRLS.All im going to say is pure devastation.

All im going to say is i had a platoon of M1s next to my platoon-made for a more intense battle "didn"t have to worry about my left flank" Nuff said.

Tankers and Mechanized Infantry work hand in hand. One specialty needs the other and vice versa to accomplish the mission. At least with Mech forces, we can dismount our vehicles and still fight as Infantrymen. I realize that 3 star was joking when he made his earlier comment but we are all brothers when push comes to shove.
