I'm hoping to create an exact replica of our firing range here in MT. Following the manual with SB Pro PE it seems like I should be able to do that but I'm having trouble finding the "New blank map" refered to on page #59. Also I'm no sure what DTED and Shape files are but I'm a quick learner. Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks,
Aaron

Those are Pro only functions not available in Pro PE

So does that mean the Pro user manual is issued with the Pro PE disk and Code Meter when purchased? I'm wondering why my user manual describes those procedures if my program is unable to do so.
So I'm "assed out" so to speak?

You can actually create new maps using the map editor (creating woods, roads, villages...), but you will need to use a built-in terrain (ie mountains, plains...), as the tool to create new terrains using various sources is only available in the Pro version.
This is actually written on the page #59 :
Steel Beast Professional allows te user to import data of existing professional terrain databases, provided...
It would have perhaps been smarter to remove this paragraph as it definitely doesn't apply to PPE...
LUPUS at steelbeastspro.com takes requests for height maps. Once you have that you can build your own terrain map. With the map editor and google earth.

I've been trying to recreate accurate terrain by using the "eindhoven-arnhem" height map but it is impossible to place roads rivers woods etc. accurately without some sort of reference. Google earth coordinates don't match the reference system PE goes by... Am I missing something here?
It would be great if images from google could serve as a template of sorts for placing landmarks.

If you are with 2.273, there is a bug with coordinate in map editor(they are referenced with the left down corner, insted of the UTM).
It work good with 2.262, and will work again with the new patch.

Thanks Froggy... I guess I'll have to wait then. Would love to do a "bridge too far" type scenario around Arnhem.
Sprocket - look in the documents folder for a google earth kmz file that lists the locations of the SW corner of each map with a esim symbol. That should get you started, and give you a point of reference.

Hi Sean,
I've tried that a while ago but the Eindhoven map is not included in the *.kmz file. Thanks for the suggestion though.
