What are everyone's preferences for input in the gunners station? I've tried the mouse, and while it is easy to track a target, if you move to quickly every thing goes crazy with the sight and the barrel slewing all over the place. When I use my Saitek X-52 I have difficulty tracking target so that the computer can calculate lead. Am I doing something wrong?

The mouse thing may actually be a bug that has recently been identified. Try to be less hectic, and everything will work just fine until we get to fix it.

As far as the joystick is concerned, maybe an adjustment of the deadzone helps.

Just a guess here, but are you by chance, gunning in an M1?

>> IF so, once you lase a target, the Ballistic Computor adds the lead that you see (the sights kinda jump a bit upon lasing) and if you don't dump the lead, after taking a/the shot, or you're gonna re-lase the/a target again, any tracking thereafter, even with a re-lase, is gonna make you chase your tail (the sights will be all over the place). You got to "dump the lead" in the M1's, but not the Leo's.

>>> Same deal, if in M1..

Saitek Cyborg evo does not rock. Terrible jitters when the input level is low.

Yes... if you want arthiritis. Too big and bulky for the job. I'd save it for flying.

I go with the simple Logitech Wingman Extreme. Right to the point and dead on easy. MUCH CHEAPER TOO.

First i tried to use the Saitek x45 with PE,
but it was very hard to aim smooth with this controller.

Thankfully i had an old stick somewhere under the dust.
Nowadays i use the microsoft sidewinder FB 2.

No problems with this stick,
and still learning tank warfare :)

I purchased, (and returned), most of the available sticks searching for a good one for PE. (I had no problem tracking with the X-52, but I couldn't find a way to hold it comfortably.)

I settled on a CH Fighterstick with weaker springs to reduce the “jitter” at the center of travel. The stick has nice, replaceable POTS and plenty of buttons. It also has an extremely capable programming function.

Another Saitek stick not to get for SB Pro is the ST290 Pro!
It has the same problem of having no fine control near the center.....
I do like the button lay out and it also has reversible palm rests....
But it adds an ungodly amount of time to my time to hit....

not a joystick, but i wondered if anyone here is familiar with the nostromo n52from belkin.
it's a pad which allows up to 104 programmable macros, easily accessible.

Hello friends. I use a A3 drawingboard with great dpi. I follow a T72 at 3000+ in a Leo with ease using a digital pen. Is that cheating???? I also use the Nostromo pad but I only use it to emulate single keypresses no macros - that IS cheating. If not the drawingboard I use the mouse.

I love I/O units!

See u guys

just to introduce the device, and ask how compatible with SBPRO you think it can be...

It works just fine. The programming software is easy to use and very flexible.
