Is the CV90 Acually modeled to have a coax in sbp? One thing i just found out that the netherlands will be getting the cv90 in 2007.

If Im right the Dutch army will get the CV9035 and MRAV "Boxer" to replace all YPR versions.

Yes it has coax, on the A and B models its an old Ksp M/36 and on the C version its a Ksp 58 (more known as M240) positioned ontopp of the turret.

Does it really need one? HEAT round should be enough

Wouldn't that be a bit like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut? ;)

RS: Considering that the Swedish Army dont use the CV90120 I really doubt we will get it :/

BD: as Jester says, thats a bit overkill, firing a 40mm HE on the head of 1 lone soldier is a bit hum... overkill... especially when a burst from a MG does the jobb just as good.

some people use JDAM to get a sniper, and miss completely!

well lets say that some people have unlimited resorces, and strange ways of solving problems.

Others do not, thats why the CV90 have a coax =)

I dont really know the CV90... all i know is that when i use the M2, i always use HEATs against troops, that is far more effective than MG 'cause it can kill several guys with only one round and since it has more than 200 already loaded...
in the case of the CV90, i dont know the amount of ammo...

the CV90 only have 232 40mm rounds (bigger caliber often means less ammo)
the ammo is divided onto 3 types of ammo (4 in the 9040C)

SABOT (against Tanks ofcourse)
HEAT (Standard HE ammo)
HE-FRAG (Against planes and choppers)
and on the 9040C also 3P (programmable)

what to note here is that you only have 3X8 prepared, after you expended them you need to pull back and reload them, it goes really fast to do it but still a moment when you cant fire, and they are mixed so you may have 2X8 with HE and 1X8 with APFSDS or vice verca wich means you dont really have that many rounds to expend on a target where a MG will do the jobb...

But sure, do you have a whole inf squad infront of you you fire 1 round on air burst and thats all... no need to firing the MG for 30sec or so...

But you really need to think about if the target are worth it before you use up 40mm round that might be needed 1 min later.
