Given Stuart's recent release of his work on Salisbury Plain and Leonard's release of his work on Ft. Polk, I've just posted something that I've been working on for a while. It is the old inter-German border area between Fulda and Bad Hersfeld. I have not attempted the level of detail that Leonard and Stuart have achieved with their maps, rather I have attempted to represent the built up areas in abstract. I think that the effect in game is sufficient to provide a moderate simulation of the area as far as the effects of the built up areas on movement and on lines of sight.
Any one who is interested in using the map, improving, or altering it in any way, please be my guest. If any one is interested in using the map for cold war scenarios, this is within the area patrolled by the 14th and then the 11th ACRs. The small city represented on the map is Hunfeld. Using google-maps, anyone interested may look up the names of the towns and roads represented.
I am continuing to work on the map myself with the intent of some day using it for a series of 11th ACR scenarios.
I've just uploaded the .ter file with the name of 'Haune Valley'.
Sean, Darkangel, and Topkick helped me with this. --- Thanks.
I could not find Huane Valley under downloads...

I remember looking at a preview of this some months back, and its deeply impressive work, just right for us cold war junkies :) Im looking forward to trying this one out.
Detail? Nah mate, it was all the work of my fevered imagination. :)
Excellent !
A dream that became true !
Nice work & many thx for the effort.
Guess you'll be making a scenario based on the one in FM 71-123 ?
If you'd need any help for that one, I' d volunteer to do so
(e.g. you do the Blue side - me the Red one; a kind of Multi Single Player)

Yeah, the map graphics for the company level defense from the FM 71-123 European defense scenario would form a nice basis for an SB scenario.
In fact, the original scenario on which Sean based his multi-player version of the Attack on Rothenkirchen used that terrain.

Downloading that scenario now.

WOW... This has to be my favorite map of all so far, great job! I really like the rolling hills, it gives a real sense of depth. Very dramatic scenery. Thanks for the hard work.
