Gulf.......SA80 the "Uber Weapon" freakin thing jammed more times than it fired they said then it was due to using the wrong oil, Hell they issued the stuff.

Couldn't it be the true reason of the planners for the excersise itself?

I was sort of wondering about that as well.. Not the primary focus of the exercise, those are as much political as training, but as a side-benefit..
"Lads, we've been telling you for ages that we need more money and not to do it half-way. No? Still not listening? Right, in that case, we're going to publicly humiliate and embarrass you. Maybe then you'll pay attention..."

This is the bit that worries me!!!
"Now we have engineers literally trimming chunks off computer-designed wings to make them fit."
Designed by " Computer..."
Built by " Robots..."
Reconfigured and Refitted by " Morons..."

Not too surprising :P
Computers used by morons to design
robots contolled by computers programmed by morons
More qualified morons to redesign moron's original design ;)
