I noticed in another thread that you guys were talking about a video series called "Behind CLosed Doors". And there was mention of the Armor School at Ft. Knox.
Where can I get this/these video/s!?!?!?
Thanks for your time!

If you can find out which channel puts out "Behind Closed Doors", you might be able to order it from them if it's sufficiently popular. Failing that, check their schedules; they recycle those shows from time to time. I missed "Extreme Machines: Tanks" the first time it was aired, but they repeated it three months later and thanks to TLC's website I was ready. :D

If 'Behind Closed Doors' is that thing with Joan Lunden doing cool stuff with military gear, it's on A&E, check their site and you'll get a schedule.
Cool show on Discovery, I think, was something with a bunch of Marines going through tank training on the Abrams. It was on a couple of months ago, and I didn't tape it, for some reason. If I see it again I will.

Funny you should mention that movie about the Marines at Ft. Knox..I just purchased it form the Discovery Channel website and have already watched it about 20 times, LOL.
I'll do some research for the "Behind Closed Doors" series and see if I can ourchase the videos.
Thanks for the responses guys!

I saw this show last summer, next thing I know I'm sworn in as a SGT in the CA National Guard, MOS: 19K! A Tanker! My Air Force buddies still can't believe it.
Amazing what TV does to you...

Lets just say that tanks weren't anywhere in my plans for life 2 years ago. Then SB came along, and now Armor Officer is my second choice for the Royal Military College of Canada (first is pilot of course).

Funny... given that Steel Beasts shows how quickly you may die on the battlefield, how can it still be attractive to sign up for it in real life?
Yeah, I know the answer - don't tell me. But still, I would have expected that it conveys a rather scary message. :o

But if you die on the battlefield, you wait a few seconds and then you reappear in another vehicle and continue the battle. If your tank is wrecked and you're sure death is imminent, you can press the tank's F9 key and you reappear in another vehicle.
That's how it is in Steel Beasts, so that must be how it is in real life.

Oh... I forgot. That must be it.

Actually, I figure if I die in a tank in real life then I was supposed too.
No sense worrying about things you can't change.
And I'm sure as heck not going to alter my life aspirations to avoid danger.
When it's your time, it's your time. Plain and simple.
