Greetings:

Hi all!
I just started 'playing' SB Pro. My impression thus far, "OUTSTANDING"! I get so immersed in it I find it difficult to turn off the PC and go to bed. Kudos to the devs and all who worked on it.

Applause:

To RnR, I just tried 'Cavalry to the Rescue' and it's just what I needed. I've done most of the tutorials and was looking for a small scale mission to practice on. This one is GREAT! If anyone could suggest some scenarios that are fairly small and not too difficult for a beginner, I would be very grateful.

Hesitation:

I really want to jump into a coop multiplayer scenario, but I hesitate because I am, as yet, so inexperienced and don't know what to expect. I sure don't want to screw up someone's game because of my noobness, but I realize that experience will come only with time and training. And I'm still not real sure how to get into a game. I have started my own, but that's as far as I went.

Anyway, enough rambling. Just wanted to say HI to the community and hope to see some of you around.

DD, the advice (good or otherwise) I give to all noobs is to jump into MP with both feet. We're generally a friendly, cooperative, and forgiving lot. You'll learn tons, and have a good time.

What's the best approach to finding MP co-op games for new players? Just jumping onto the teamspeak server? or should I be looking at other locations (such as the MP board) for information?

Thanks,

CMC

You should absolutely jump in to the TS server, introduce yourself to the guys and have fun :)

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Scorpius, I've dl'ed some of your skins, fantastic work! Thank you

CMC, that's a question that's been on my mind also. I routinely play Co-op Ghost Recon, GRAW and Swat4 with three of my friends, on a private server. Great fun. But I have yet to convince any of them to purchase SBPE. I think they're waiting to see how I do with it first. So I have not had the opportunity to play SB with someone I know. If you don't object to playing with a very new beginner, perhaps we could try co-op sometime with the two of us. I would be glad to try hosting (only 1.5mb/326k DSL tho), or if your connection is better, you could host. PM if you'd like to try.

DD, if you can control a small amount of vehicles (say up to a platoon) and you feel -relatively- comfortable with controlling them in such a manner as to get stealthy and/or quick kills etc (at least, if you consider yourself relatively adept at winning ... you don't have to be great or anything, that comes with practice) then co-op is for you.

The game will likely have an overall commander who will let you know where he wants you and what he wants you to do. Now if there's no commander eh ... ;)

But if you have a good commander, you'll find coop is not hard at all.

Anzac runs a campaign you should join: It is low-intensity warfare which should suit someone who is new. :)

Yes death dad,

just show up.

Chat a bit, get to know folks on TeamSpeak and then mention that you are new - that's all you'll need. The rest predicates on your willingness to listen and learn.

It's a blast... you'll see.

Welcome!

Sir, yes sir! :thelmuts:

Actually, I tried to, but I'm too stupid to figure out what's going on. There appeared to be only one person there, and they were AFK. Is it that there is only activity during certain hours? Or are arrangements made prior to playing through another messenger service and then everyone links up on SB TS? And is TS always required, or can players just text message each other while playing?

I'm still a bit shaky about even joining a game with real people, especially after my solo performance last nite
I played the Border Patrol mission (for over an hour) and when I was done there was smokin' metal everywhere. Most of it mine :debile2: But it was grand fun.

Anyhoo, if someone could just jot down a couple of lines on the mechanics of getting into an internet game, your efforts would be greatly appreciated by those of us that are 'Join a Game' challenged.

Thanks to all who take the time to read this,
Many thanks to those who help...
