View Full Version : I still can't reload smoke grenades.

OK... what the hell am I doing wrong. I fire them off and I gone into the lower right reload menu and searched for the toggle to reload... nothing there.

I check the standard overhead reload menu bar and there is nothing there.

What am I doing wrong???

Somebody post some jpegs showing the proper menu... I'll post some jpegs of mine PROVING that it does not show up.

You can reload smoke nades?

Fuck that. I wouldn't want to be the crewman ordered to climb out of the vehicle in the middle of a battle just to stuff some new nades into each of the 8 or so launchers.

Depends on the tank you're using. I just tried it with a Leo2A5 and it seemed like it was willing to do what I wanted.

The first screenie shows the pull-down menu, under 'Vehicle' I think. The second is a shot taken a moment after I've given the command to reload smoke grenades.

The function simply does not work with the Abrams I guess. Great. Now that we have multispectrum smoke and we won't be able to reload! Is this an oversight?

Oh... and I wouldn't want to run outside and put new ones in either bud. LOL.

It is not really a bug, just that there is no ammo to reload!
If you look at options, ammunitions, for a M1A1, you will see that there is 2 salvo of smoke, but none in reserve. For a Leo2A5, there is 6 in reserve.
And here is the bug! There is to many smoke salvo in the Leo!
Instead of having 2 smoke salvo of 6 grenade, there is 12 salvo of 6 grenade! and every relaod of smoke grenade give you a 6 smoke grenades salvo.

This is probably just an overlooked bug. I never even think to reload smoke because I rarely run out, I guess. But, the M-1 definetly has room to store more smoke...

Oh my god! There is a bug that enables Leopard tank to have more smoke grenades than it should, teh horror!! It's all huge German conspiracy I tell you!!!!1111 Please remove that tin-foil hat off your head SW already, HAHAHAHAA!

Btw, this bug has been a known issue for quite some time, and if you just knew who reported it, you'd shut up, all I can say. :D

I already reported this bug on the Strv122 and CV90 about 2 weeks ago.

That's not a critical bug, but I hope that it will be resolved soon.

Speaking of grenades, anyone else think that HE grenades take way too long from launch to detonation? A rough count is about 5 secs whereas the regular smoke grenades take about 2 secs. You can actually fire a HE and have enough time to drive under it and really annoy the TC.

Is the HE timing normal or is it an oversight?

On a real tank, it take less 1" from launch to detonate. (I fired some during Leclerc trial in Qatar desert).

Galix and Diehl HE-frag grenades may work differently.

He grenades should have a delay from activation to explosion, otherwise people would blow themselves up on a regular basis. We used to install smoke grenade fuses into HE grenades (they were interchangeable) and leave them behind for the enemy to pick up and use. It worked.

No, the HE grenades airburst. Whether they maybe fly higher or aren't fired immediately from the tubes is an open question, but I did the grenade-launch toot and I observed the things exploding overhead.

I know enough Mr. Conspiracy Theory :D. That tin-foil hat must be getting awfully tight, might help with your stress levels a bit if you removed it.
