Just a quick question. I am trying out the mission Cold Steel, I think it is a really good mission so far, however I am having problems firing the mine clearance device. Can anybody advise on how to launch this as I have the mission on pause at the moment.

If its AI: put a waypoint 100m infront of the field, new route -> breach and sett it 50-100ms behind
if you control it, move up, from TC/external spot hit "Spacebar". the turret will sleeve right (to save the gun) and you can only move slow from now, but its breaching.
If you have M113/ENG with you you do the same, give them breachorder and the will mark out the way for you.

I think he specifically meant the MCLIC

I think he specifically meant the MCLIC
not from I understand it, but then I can just as well type it in here for the miclic as well.
recepie for a successfull mine breaching operation:
1 x A poor SOB who needs to detect the minefield
1 x M113/Miclic
1 x M113/ENG
1 x Mineroller/plow tank (plow is to prefer because when not used they have same speed as a ordinary tank, wich the mineroller doesnt)
1. the poor SOB will find the minefield (normally thrue a "boom")
2. Move up the Miclic. give it a waypoint 50m infront of the minefield, give it a breach command over the minefield. It will move up, and launch the Miclic and it will explod, be sure to stopp the Miclic to go further, because sometimes they move into the minefield and blow up.
3. Move up the mineroller/Plow. give it breach order from a waypoint 50m away from the minefield to 50m behind it. Best thing to do is to create a new waypont, give it breachorder, then just attach the units to the first waypoint. so they will use the same path in/out of the minefields.
4. if you control the mineplow yourself, hit spacebar and the plow will lover, then move thrue the field.
5. when the mineplow tank has moved safe thrue the minefield...
6. take the M113/ENG and give it breach orders thrue the minefield. it will move thrue it, and mark the safe path with flags. dont go outside the flags ;)
7. done
Ewen the AI moves thrue the cleared lane! (unless fired upon and bla bla bla, you know how stupid they are)

I've never been able to keep the MICLIC from blowing itself up or retreating before it fires.
I start it on "Breach" before it gets to the minefield (roughly 100 yards). I put a waypoint as close to the minefield as I can so it (theoretically) will retreat after doing its thing.
It either doesn't go off and retreats without clearing a path (waypoint too far away from the minefield) or it goes off and clears a path and then blows up before it starts retreating (waypoint too close to the minefield). If there is a "sweet spot" there, I can never find it.
My guess is the boundary on the minefield graphic and the actual location of the mines is not very precise, but that's just a hunch.
I just send in the mine plows and forget the MICLIC but I sure would like to figure out how to use it reliably. I've blown the map up to 8x and tried measuring with a ruler but I can't seem to get it right. Any tips?
Thanks,
HT

Look at them, when they have fired their worm, djump in and reverse them.
only way I know of so far. have you tried (if you want it 100% scripted) to set a delay when you have retreat order? so there is a delay on 1 min ex?
