Sometimes I am having difficulty in joining a network session. All the port forwarding has been configured. Any ideas?

Could you, like, provide a few details?

Hey SG,
1. Any chance that you forgot to turn off (disable) the WXP firewall?
2. Does your provider have/use a firewall? If so, you need to contact them and find out its port # (I think)
3. And, does your statement mean that you have joined online MP battles before and this situation just popped up as of late?
4. Last, who was hosting the MP game, and did you chk with that host if, and that, their firewall/s were down as well (disabled)?
Luck,
LS

I have been informed the problem could be that there is two computers on the network.I am trying to join from the main desktop, but the ip address may be on the laptop. All firewalls were checked etc.
Are you having trouble connecting in LAN or over internet?
For LAN, use local IP, for internet use public IP. In case of internet and the person who hosts has more computers in his LAN, he must give you his public IP and not his local.

Thanks for the help on ts guys.Because there was more than one computer on the network, the first one to be switched on was claiming the main IP.The remedy was to switch off all computers power and then switch on the main computer.Another remedy is not to give your other half the facility to go online, just tell them to watch soaps and do knitting.

Hear, hear... I've had the same sort of problems like Scotsgrey. For the first time in almost a year I've had a *human* player in my sights... until my *rse was shot off by AI.
Thanks to all involved. Hope to participate in many online battles from now on.
