Hi everyone!

Are there any single-player mission for someone wanting to play the opfor forces?

Ty!

It depends on what you mean by OPFOR. OPFOR, by definition means opposing force, therefore that implies those playing against you.

However, if you mean Warsaw Pact equipment, which is typically OPFOR in the classic sense, I think I have made a few head-to-red COOP scenarios. However, I don't have a single-player game as you describe.

I didn't think there was a "market" for it, but I guess I could make one sometime.

If you are so inclined, try your hand at the mission editor and see if you can make one.

Oh Oh another guy looking to play it as a wargame! I have one almost done, should be up within a day or two.

Los,

Personally, I like playing the game from a number of different angles - the wargame angle is one of them.

The beauty of the game's flexibility means that the $125 spent goes a long way.

Of course we can solve some of these opfor issues with a nice crewable T72 or somfink.

If there were a way to make MP using crewable tanks (Leos vs Abrams), it would make for great online scenarios.

For Single Player, you can take any mission that's set up for Red tanks being Russian and switch them to crewable tanks (Leos or Abrams) in Mission Editor. Then, if you play them in Mission Editor, you can pick either side. Mission Editor allows you to be red or blue, even switch during a battle.

Seriously, if there were a way to make MP using crewable tanks (Leos vs Abrams), it would make for great online scenarios.

Uh...you CAN do that. (You are messing w/ us, right HT? My sarcasmometer may be out of calibration.)

The only snag with the "SP switch" is that the blue forces also have to be fully scripted to be an AI opponent. (Something you are fond of, but not all the designers have been ;) )

I've never tried MP (never can find enough guys around when I have the time to play, err, fight; when I open TS, it's usually empty -- I just checked: There are only three guys in there and one of them is AFK; that's typical).

Can you have crewable tanks on both sides? If so, VERY kewl!

Yup, you can certainly take my missions, switch the Ruskie tanks to crewable tanks and play either side. That's true with most of the earlier ones.

The recent Golan series may not play out well because I've really designed it so the outcome is close to historical rather than being gamer-friendly (even sides). The Syrians lost a lot of tanks with their right-up-the-middle tactics. And, in some cases, the Israeli defenders are over-run pretty quickly.

I guess I'll have to give MP a try :)

Oh lordy yes! You can have any vehicle in the game on either side in an MP scenatrio - M1 vs. Leo, M1 vs M1, or any combination you can think of! Of course the crewable vehicle set is limited if you want to provide a fun balance for each side, but there have been LOTS of variations on that theme.

HT,

you absolutely need to see/feel the game from the MP perspective - it'll give you new insights into your adept mission -making.

You'll meet some great people and will likely have a good bit of fun.

Try showing up for the Friday Night game - 10:00 EST

I'll put it on my calender :)

Thanks, TB

BTW you can aslo use the same tank against each other in force on force and then provide a different skin for both sides. You will notice in the mods/skins section for each theme folder (woodland, desert, etc) there's a sub section known as red. So you can have say two M1 skins in there, one Bluefor and one Redfor.

Hey maybe some kindly SB skinner can make a Leo/M1 OPFOR vismod skin...
