if you click on the home tab top left of your screen u will see a list of patches on the page. I think u need to install them sequentially (there's 3)

Look here:

All patches are to be found here:
http://www.steelbeasts.com/

Installation:

Patches are incremental, do not skip any step.

1.) Patch 1 (version 2.262; 75.6 MB)
This patch is no longer needed with the new CD releases. Check the version number after CD-installation, if it already reads 2.262, do not use this patch.

2.) Patch 2 (version 2.273; 4 MB)

3.) You MUST update the Codemeter firmware in order to run the following versions of SBP.
Download place for Codemeter Runtime Environment:
http://codemeter.com/us/service/downloads.html
(actual version is 3.10)
Instructions how to do the firmware update 1.10 for the CodeMeter dongle:
http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/...ead.php?t=8043

4.) Addon 1/Patch 3 (version 2.304, 100 MB)
(adds the CV9040 and the STRV-122 to the playable vehicles, complete with extensive manual)

5.) You must update your dirX9.0c to standard of December, 2006, in order to run the following versions of SBP, find DirX here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx

6.) Patch 4 (version 2.328, 10 MB)

As I hread from Nils, it's better to use DirectX-Update from Feb 2007. With that release their solve probabliy multiple problems.

On MS site it fits to select "Use latest directX" (or something else).

It is not proven, but the February release seems to address certain graphics driver issues. It certainly doesn't hurt to have the February version instead of the December version. These two observations combined lead to my recommendation to use the later one.

Question: I downloaded the complete, some 420 mb's DX Dec file and loaded it, no problems. Is this Feb DX release for Pro PE also, or just Pro?

And if for Pro PE as well, do I need to download just the smaller Feb file under the title: Direct X Feb 07 "Redistributable" of only 44.2 mb's?

OR, do I need to dowload the big file Feb 07, DX "SDK", some 432.0 mb's one?

Thanks

LS

PS.. have WXP Professional OS

The December SDK (Software Development Kit) is much, much bigger than what you actually need since it also includes DirectX reference implementations, demo programs and whatnot to illustrate certain features.

What you NEED is the end-user version of DirectX - the "end user redistributable" is 44MByte large, and chances are that the direct download/update through Microsoft's DirectX update page is even smaller since it only downloads the changed files. The "redist" version includes all files, even those that you already have.

I am thinking that it is time for me to buy Steelbeasts Pro .
Do the new CDs include the latest patches?

Hey pamak,

From what I've read of late, yes, the CD's come with latest patch, but I'm not sure about the dongle (security device that comes with the CD) as it has had 3 updates.

Someone will verify the dongle issue.

Good hunting,

My week old game came with 2.328 and the dongle with 1.08. I believe the latest codemeter software is 1.10.

How does one go about updating the codemeter version? Please don't tell me to go to the codemeter site. Been there - done that. I don't get it.

Go to the 2.304 announcements post at the top of this forum.

Find the link there to the Codemeter ver. 3.10 runtime download. Download the file and run the installer.

Would like to update my sticky, so: what is the latest confirmed version of SBP, delivered on the latest CD editions? Really 2.328?

The CDs will be of version 2.328. We are also awaiting a new batch of manuals which will incorporate the latest changes; however, old manuals will be sent out until the stock is depleted (should be soon).
The CD includes the latest CodeMeter runtime software, but we still get sticks from Wibu Systems with firmware 1.08. We recommend the firmware upgrade since it reduces the chance of malfunction. The upgrade must be done through the command prompt display window (or whatever it is called in English - first entry at the top of the CodeMeter contrext menu). There, go to "Action" (or whatever it is called in English - second entry in menu bar), and then select "update CM stick firmware".

The default password is CodeMeter, notice the two capitalized letters.
