Question: I downloaded the complete, some 420 mb's DX Dec file and loaded it, no problems. Is this Feb DX release for Pro PE also, or just Pro?

And if for Pro PE as well, do I need to download just the smaller Feb file under the title: Direct X Feb 07 "Redistributable" of only 44.2 mb's?

OR, do I need to dowload the big file Feb 07, DX "SDK", some 432.0 mb's one?

Thanks

LS

PS.. have WXP Professional OS

LS, I dont think that you need SDK unless you plan on doing some coding.

Thanks TH, as I had no idea, still don't.. lol, of what the SDK stood for.

So, as of your post, opinion, it stands: 1 in favor of smaller:

Feb 07 Redistributable DX file of 44.2 mb's only (needed)

My thanks

SDK = Software Development Kit

You want the resdistributable version, not the SDK. However, you really dont need to install it everytime a new build comes out unless you are specifically instructed to do so. The bi-monthly releases usually contain small changes or some new feature which is useless to you unless you have a piece of software that specifically uses the new coding. Its not "backwards applicable" so to speak. Any significant improvements to DirectX will come through the regular windows update.
