Hy Nils. I can't remember seeing a thread on this question before and I sent the word "3D" through the search engine on the forum to check before asking....

Does Pro offer any kind of 3D glasses support for Edimensional 3D glasses?

If not I really think you should consider it seeing how:

A. It would be a good selling point to future users in terms of military training
B. I'm getting a pair of the glasses Wednesday and it would be cool as sh^*#t.

@cobrabase: Can you share your experience with your glasses with us (when you got them)? I sold mine a two weeks ago as they didn't work with my TFT-display as expected.

Hey all.

Actually, I had them about 2 years ago before Steel beasts Pro and my dog chewed off the cord. LOL! The dog lived.

Eye fatique over long periods is right but its still great technology. Some games work with them and others don't. I'm not getting them FOR SBP but it would be neat if they worked with it.

Hint for the future: Get the cordless version! ;-)

Personally I'd rate TrackIR support higher in priority, but that may just reflect my ignorance. I see stereoscopic 3D vision as a nice toy mostly, and a potentially useful thing for shooter applications where you are moving in confined spaces. I don't really see the tremendous potential for it in tank gunnery training or tactical education.

Having said that, convince me that I'm worng. It can be done, although I admit that I can be stubborn.

So Pro won't work with Edimensional algorithms AT ALL??! >:(

Useful in confined spaces? You're a former tanker! You can't get more CONFINED than being in a tank!

I have used them with pro, not that Pe and Pro would differ.
For the F8 viewing their great, bino view not so great. Gunnery no way, driving hatches up ok.
The problem I had was with the glasses and then using the mouse for selecting the options/controls is difficult and you need to switch back and forth too much and you loos the SA during the process.
You can't look down at the keyboard, because the glass are on,

Its do-able ,I find only If you are in the commanders outside view and stay there during the mission. And here its ideal for Pro because the army will not multi task themselves in different crew positions unlike the gaming/sim world.
I would not spend the money on glasses, thinking a programable pad would be a better choice.:luxhello:

just my 2 cents worth from upper Canada at the Peace support center studying very hard between classes......oooh ya:men_ani:

Thanks for letting me know. I'm not getting them again exactly for Pro but for other titles.

Is the gun breach 3D?

Yes, however to acess the controls you got to have them on your stick, or take the glasses from your face.Simply looking down at the keyboard will take you to looking at the turret floor. A programble stick is what i found to work best. The mouse was completly unusable with the glasses. Now I'm no pc mastermind (B Gattes/Sean), but for gaming.sim work in any other view other than outside or unhatched positions they are difficult to impossible to use.

having fun on course with other Nato students.
