Maybe this sce. - Behind enemy lines (by Moggy) - already got some praise on the old forum, yet it's worth to repeat some of it.
I recommend playing this recon-scenario for several reasons :

- The map is an immediate eyecatcher : it's a very well balanced mix of Tank/AFV-country and NoGo-country. It's well crafted and seems to be designed with this sce. strongly in mind.
Did you so, Moggy ? and what Height-map did you use ?

- The mission itself is a classic recon-mission. This in itself is already a thrilling experience. But the designer also added a very realistic feel to the mission, which makes it even more authentic (if I'm not mistaken, Moggy does or did have military background ?)

- The briefing is of an interesting concept : it's short and complete. But it also explains some notions about doing a recon : good for newbies !

- It's a 2 platoon-mission : so not too much units to handle, if your in the mood for a smaller mission.

- Even better : Moggy loaded up a plan as well, for the blue units. That is a very welcome thing : not that this map guarantees you victory, you still have to fight for it. But sometimes one is just not in the mood to go to the whole process of terrain-analysis, plotting routes and CP's etc ...

- I didn't judge the Red AI yet : don't want to spoil gameplay for myself. (I hope you didn't put a password on the editor).

Conclusion : good stuff that invites you to play it several times. So thanks for making us this mission, Moggy. I hope to find the time to review some more of your other sce.

Best regards,

Koen.

Hi Guys...funny with all my mod work on SB, I thought no one noticed my scenarios. I tend to try to be on the creative (sometimes off beat side...LOL)

My favorite oddities:
The Devils Alternative. Post tactical nuke, take um with us scenario. I really like this one,
still makes me nervous when I play it. waiting for the smoke to clear to open up.
Audie at holzwhir. dumb, but fun.
and then this one, behind enemy lines. I still play it once in a while. Real hard to spot in the towns on the east side of map without getting zapped!

LS, I will dig it up an post it on this forum for you.

ps. No military experience, but I have read about 12 US Army field manuals in the last 6 months...so who says you can't do it by the manual!!! Actually, I have watched Battleground about 100 times, so I think that makes me an honorary vet...at least from the couch view.

cheers.
oh, the map. Not mine...Normandy map made by another user around here...excellent...I expanded the river and added the ford point.

tried to upload it on the new forum, but have no idea if it worked or not???

Let me know LS, I can post it on the Gunn sight for you if that would work.

Hello Moggy,

- I'd like to have a closer look at the Red AI you used in "Behind Enemy Lines" : As mentioned above, it looks interesting, so one might learn something from it. Would you mind mentioning the passwords to the mission here, or send them by email to ilona.koen.2@belgacom.net ?

- If you prefer not to give up the passwords, would you mind posting the terrain-map (your adaptation of the Normandy-map) : since it's well done, I might use it in another mission.

Thanks in advance,

Koen.

Koen. I passworded the scenarios to force the player to "not cheat". I think it is
a cool feature of SB. But then again, I have always wanted to see how the designer made the scenario too.

I would be glad to, but there is a problem. I have used many different passwords and I tried them all, and none work. I was sure the password was OVERLORD. but it doesn't work. I never saved the map either. You can find it on the old forum maybe...it was with the DDay scenarios.

If it comes to me that it was some other password, I will let you know. I was sure it was a DDAY related word. That is usually how I make up passwords.
