You'd be surprised at how much of a training refresher DoW has been for me.

Summary:

D 1-12CAV a combined NATO force of M1A2SEP's, Leo2A5DK's, and M2A2's conducts a hasty attack to secure objective Lynx, secure a road intersection, and prevent enemy counter attack from a reinforced rifle Battalion.

1) SITUATION:

a) Enemy:

Elements of the 265th Rifle Battalion reinforced. Enemy is well supplied, and prepared in defensive positions. Enemy has the ability to counter attack if they feel their numbers are sufficient.

b) Own:

D 1-12CAV 1st CAV Division Armored with 2 platoons of M1A2SEP, 1 Platoon Leopard 2A5A2-DK, and one Platoon M2A2. 3 batteries of 6 tubes off map with ICM, HE, and Smoke. 3 air strikes.

c) Attachments and detachments: One supply truck, 1 Recovery vehicle M88.

2) MISSION:

Conduct a hasty attack from the deployment zone to secure objective Lynx.

b) Own:

TF Iron consisting of 2 platoons of 1025 scouts, 2 platoons of M2A2ODS, 2 platoons of M1A2SEP, and one platoon of Leo2A5A2-DK.

c) Attachments and detachments: Medics, Repair, Recovery, engineer with MICLIC, Fuelers, Supply, and a bridge layer.

2) MISSION:

Scout and identify breaching or bridging areas, breach or bridge to allow for main attack force of the TF, secure and hold objective airfield..

The Operational Plan for tonight.. Cooperation throug units made the map complete and very detailed.

Cooperation between members (height, hills, uav contacts, road names, wood names, make this game incredibly immersive, and the planning phase becomes a good half of the entire game, asking everyone of us to work togheter to have a complete situational awareness.

Thanks to all the expert guys in DOW (actually some of them did or are doing the real thing), this is felt as you can always ask someone for a doubt and actually have a statisfactory answer (where i must go, how should i do this)

The use of comms, it's kept in high priority in sunday's meeting, giving more realistic touch and taking out confusion from the comms. For this also, someone will help you to know the right procedures and tricks on the weekly meetings and saturday's events.

TF Iron scouts to find avenues of attack through a danger area consisting of natural, man made, and mined obstacles.
