Captain_Thunder
I am currently reading the third of three book series I got a couple weeks ago. called "Combat Vol. 3". It's edited by Stephen Coonts and each book contains 3-4 novelets from authors like Harold Coyle, Ralph Peters, James Cobb, R.I. Pineiro, Larry Bond, Dale Brown, David Hagberg, Stephen Coonts, Dean Ing, and Barret Tillman. The story I'm reading now is called Cyberknights, by Harold Coyle.Amazon has all three volumes "Combat," "Combat #2," "Combat #3." I also ordered and read a book called "The Ten Thousand" by Michael Curtis Ford. It's a fictional account told from the perspective of a friend of the main character, Xenophon, the Greek general that marched his 10,000 Greek mercenaries through thousands of miles of hostile Persian territory back towards Greece around 280BC. It was a interesting read. The true account is told in a book "Anabasis" supposedly written by Xenophon himself some 30 years later using a pseudonym. Coyle based his modern tank combat fiction "Ten Thousand" on this event.
John Davy
Right now I am reading Matterhorn and I can't put it down. One of my favs is "Sands of Valour" by Geoffrey Wagner. It's about a British armoured unit in North Africa in 1941/42. It too has the feel of reality, with no false heroics, etc
