Situation a. En Forces: 1 GTD is advancing steadily EAST to WEST hard on the heels of a withdrawing U.S. Force, b. Friendly Forces: 4 CMBG is deployed to stop the enemy advance; 3 RCR left, 1 R22eR right. c. Atts and Dets: In loc G11 (FOO from A Bty 1 RCHA) 7G (FC from Mor Pl) 2 Sect, Aslt Pnr Pl 4 and 5 sect, Armd Def Pl 1 and 2 Tp, B Sqd RCD 1/8G, 1/8G, AD Tp, 1 RCHA 2. Mission Coy will def assigned sector from 07/25/84,0330HRS 3. Execution a. General Outline: Two pis up, left 1 PI, right 3 PI, in depth 2 PI. Coy def posn centred on BLICKHEIM RIDGE WEST of FĂ–RCH facing east. B Sqn will superimpose its fire on our layout. We will provide intimate support to a B Sqn ambush in FAVORITE. b. 1 Pl (1) Grouping: In loc 4 sect. Armd Def Pl 1/8G, 2/8G. Kanium Sunday 5th of NOV 1900 UTC "Flank Attack (M60)" by Apocalypse Where: Kanium TS : teamspeak3.i3d.net:10077 World Clock 1900 UTC Please notice the daytimes saving settings have change in europa Flank Attack (M60) by Apocalypse 1. SITUATION a. Enemy. The 1st Battalion of the 881st Brigade Tactical Group (BTG) is established in a deliberate defense along Eastern flank of the 881 BTG. Their current disposition is unknown, but they are composed of 6x Platoons of T-62 tanks, 6x Platoons of BMP-1's, 1x Recon platoon (BRDM-2), and 1x Platoon of 2S1 Artillery. b. Friendly forces will conduct an attack to defeat the 881 BTG, in order to allow friendly forces from 2nd Battalion to pass through our area of operations, along Highway 5. To the east, Team Apache will conduct an attack to fix the 2-881 BTG, while Team Kanium conducts an attack to destroy the 1-881 BTG: the destruction of the 1-881 BTG will expose the flanks of the 881 BTG and provide Team Bulldog an opening to assault through to destroy the remnants of 2-881 sa well as the BTG reserve, 3-881. 2. MISSION Team Kanium attacks to destroy the 1-881 BTG between PL BLACK and PL GOLD in order to pass friendly forces for follow on operations. 3. EXECUTION a. Purpose. The purpose of this operation is the destruction of the 1-881 BTG so that TEAM BULLDOG may attack to destroy the remainder of the 881 BTG. b. Key Tasks 1. Destroy 1-881 BTG 2. Seize OBJ BEAR 3. Pass Team BULLDOG to destroy the 2-881 and 3-881. c. End State i. Terrain. Objective BEAR is seized; The AO is cleared to pass TEAM BULLDOG. ii. Friendly: Friendly forces are established in a hasty defense along PL GOLD, prepared to safely pass follow-on forces. iii. Enemy: The 1-881 is destroyed between PL BLACK and PL GOLD; unable to interfere with follow-on friendly forces. iv. Civilian: Minimal collateral damage and disruption to the civilian way of life. d. Fires 6x Tubes of 120mm Mortar (organic) 3x Sorties of CAS (AH-64 w/ 2x Hellfires ea - "notional" CAS). SITUATION a. Enemy. An Armored Battalion from the 881th Brigade Tactical Group (BTG) is established in a deliberate defense along the Cay River, with strongholds in two vital towns along our Brigade's Axis of Advance. Their current disposition is unknown, but they are composed of 6x Platoons of T-55A tanks, 6x Platoons of BMP-1's, 1x Recon platoon (BRDM-2), and 1x Platoon of 2S1 Artillery. Additionally, the 1-881 has minelaying capabilities and may lay up to 3 medium sized minefields. b. Friendly forces will conduct an attack to defeat the 881 BTG, in order to allow friendly forces from 2nd Battalion to pass through our area of operations, along Highway 5. To the east, Team Apache will conduct an attack to fix the 2-881 BTG, and to our West, Team Bulldog will attack to fix the 3-881 BTG. Simultaneously, Team Kanium will attack to clear enemy forces along Highway 5 in order pass elements from 2nd Battalion that will continue their attack to the south to defeat the 882 BTG . 2. MISSION Team Kanium attacks to clear the 1-881 BTG between PL BLACK and PL GOLD in order to pass friendly forces for follow on operations. 3. EXECUTION a. Purpose. The purpose of this operation is to clear enemy forces from Highway 5 so that that follow-on forces have freedom of movement along the high-speed avenue of approach. b. Key Tasks 1. Clear 1-881 BTG 2. Seize OBJ PANTHER 3. Seize OBJ COUGAR c. End State i. Terrain. Objectives PANTHER & COUGAR are seized; Highway 5 is cleared for 2nd Battalion. ii. Friendly: Friendly forces are established in a hasty defense along PL GOLD, prepared to safely pass follow-on forces from 2nd Battalion. ii. Enemy: The 1-881 is cleared between PL BLACK and PL GOLD; unable to interfere with follow-on friendly forces. iii. Civilian: Minimal collateral damage and disruption to the civilian way of life. d. Fires 6x Tubes of 120mm Mortar (organic) 3x Sorties of CAS (AH-64 w/ 2x Hellfires ea - yes, I know this is not realistic or era-specific - but it works well as "notional" CAS). Call-sign "Troublemaker" will begin their approach and engage targets of opportunity upon call (Trigger by A66/A65) then RTB.

    The Red tide 1988. The war to hold back the Soviets is failing, the German forces have been forced to fall back as their flank has collapsed, the BAOR still stands strong, and we the US forces are on the retreat now. We have to try and hold back the soviet forces for there to be a civillian evac from the city of Archen, trucks still haven't evacuated everyone, they need an hour, so we must try and hold back the enemy force as there is no-one between us and the city. We have a simple mission, hold the enemy back for an hour. --- 1 PT of M1A1 HA 1 PT of M1A1 2 PT's of M2A2 1 PT of M3A2. With a few other assets. Good luck. NOTES: The ammo types are CORRECT. All blue and red forces are to date. Any bugs please comment below.
  9. Hi Team A question for the Canadian and Danish Cold War experts: When did the M113(A1) TOW variants in your respective countries receive thermal imagers? It's hard to tell from my research. I'm guessing mid-80s through to early 90s latest but it would be good to have more specific timeframes if possible for existing and pipeline scenario work. Thanks in advance!

  14. So turns out I could still make it today 8) We will be hosting a small game for whoever want to play. Units for the night will be 1a5dk, humwee tow, m113 etc. Show up on Kanium TS if you are bored. Scenario is an old kingtiger mission changed a bit.
