    This scenario is dedicated to my good friend Steel Beasts Cavalry aka. Cobra (base). This is a scenario that would follow on to one of my previous and best scenarios, "Gradual Retreat". This one took a while as I wanted to perfect this scenario, It is accurate, ammo types are accurate to the year as well as vehicles, (But just think that the army national guard are still operating the M901's). --- After the gradual retreat scenario, the Soviet forces over run the defensive line and are moving with a large force, but the time bought has been used for our rear forces to establish a 170 Km defensive line, this is last line of defence before the Soviet forces reach France. The rest of the British forces left in the UK are mobilsed and will be in France within the next 16 hours, along with a 4 hr transit time before the first brigade of Challenger 1's can arrive from 4 Royal Tank Regiment. They have been redeployed from the Gulf. US Forces in the area have organised a defensive strategy to reppel the soviet advance, however it is unclear as to whether it will work. 2 ACR is divided into sub groups within sectors, groups 1-8 are defending Alpha section (North), whilst 9-18 are defending Bravo section (South). Each group holds a 10km wide gap, Alpha section stretches 80 Km, leaving bravo section with 90 Km. This 170 Km line is to protect France and Belguim, however France is under threat the most. 3 Group, 2 ACR's forward elements are expected to make contact with scouting elements from the first echelon of a detachment from a Guards divison, the 5th Motorised Infantry Regiment.     The Red tide 1988. The war to hold back the Soviets is failing, the German forces have been forced to fall back as their flank has collapsed, the BAOR still stands strong, and we the US forces are on the retreat now. We have to try and hold back the soviet forces for there to be a civillian evac from the city of Archen, trucks still haven't evacuated everyone, they need an hour, so we must try and hold back the enemy force as there is no-one between us and the city. We have a simple mission, hold the enemy back for an hour. --- 1 PT of M1A1 HA 1 PT of M1A1 2 PT's of M2A2 1 PT of M3A2. With a few other assets. Good luck. NOTES: The ammo types are CORRECT. Kanium Sunday 3rd of AUG 1800 UTC "Operation Desert Tortoise I" Special NTC by Apoc Where: Kanium TS : teamspeak3.i3d.net:10077 World clock 1800 UTC Everybody is velcome , though we recommend that new players contact Major Duck, Swordsmandk to get an intro to our use of TS and get setup and get a small get familiar session sometime before the scen as it can be a very very steep learning curve to play multiplayer compared to single player. Its our experience that most new players hang around much longer with that approach and most learn something new that way. We have no requirement for participants to be a member of our VU(Virtual Unit) and you can be a member of other VU's and still play with us or to participate on any number of games etc..., we have a rule that says that your only velcome when you want to play and remember family is more important then the game. Operation Desert Tortoise I by Apocalypse 1. SITUATION a. Enemy. An Armored Battalion from the 18th Armored Brigade is established in a deliberate defense along Pioneer Pass. They currently have one company of T-80U tanks, supported by dismounted infantry forward, in vicinity of OBJ SLAYER, that has established a disruption zone to provide early warning and maneuver space for the remainder of the Battalion, which has established their main battle zone around the bottle-necked area of Pioneer Pass. The enemy maintains sufficient indirect fire and engineer assets (we anticipate at least 1x mine belt surrounding OBJ SLAYER), and is being supported by a sortie of attack helicopters that it may employ at any time. b. Friendly forces are assembling for a Brigade-sized attack that will require Pioneer Pass to be clear of enemy forces. In this sector, Team Kanium will lead this attack by clearing enemy forces within the valley and seizing Pioneer Pass, in order pass elements from 2nd Battalion that will continue their attack to the West. 2. MISSION Team Kanium attacks to seize OBJs SLAYER and ANTHRAX, to allow follow-on forces freedom of maneuver through Pioneer Pass. 3. EXECUTION a. Purpose. The purpose of this operation is to seize key terrain, so that follow-on forces have freedom of movement. b. Key Tasks 1. Seize OBJ SLAYER 2. Seize OBJ ANTHRAX 3. Clear enemy armor within Pioneer Valley & Coyote Valley c. End State i. Terrain. Pioneer Pass is seized and enemy (armor) are clear from Pioneer Valley ii. Friendly: Friendly forces are prepared to safely pass follow-on forces from 2nd Battalion. iii. Enemy: Elements of the 18th Armored Brigade are defeated, destroyed, or neutralized; unable to interfere with friendly, follow-on forces. iv.     An attack on North Korea by the American forces due to a retaliation. The USMC have gone in to move to Pyongyang. Mechanized infantry force, will be going up against heavy armour, and infantry. With only a few light APC's. This will be a the first part of a 5 part series, each one getting closer to Pyongyang, with maybe one or two spin off missions. Stay tuned for more!
