I am not surprised by the results of the Swedish tank trials of 1993/1994 anymore:

swedish_tank_trials_ballistics_Leclerc_awww.jpg

And yet despite this the Swedes didnt give the Leclerc a second glance as they chose the Leopard. Twice.

And there is only ONE other nation that have bought the Leclerc.

And total number built is less than 1000

All an evil conspiracy ... ?

Or because the french never play dirty ?

On another note: Do the french army use Steel Beasts ?

I think you are reading the chart wrong. From the commentary, a lower number seems to be better.

ahhh ... So 1 is first place then. My bad.

But given the context, that actually validates my point

Due to  faulse claims (French using GPS jammers...), French gouv was cautious to give armor values.

So Greeks use AMX30B2 armor value for the comparison with the others contenders.

The greeks crew was also not very efficient with the FCS (introducing lead with static objective, not using correct laser return..)

they did better after 7 days in the French armor school).

The Leclerc was still in the prototype phase, having teething automotive problems. The Leopard 2S deal was just better because it came with spare bargain priced  Leo2A4s.  This scenario repeated itself multiple times with the Leopard 2A4 in Europe. Why pay 6+ million euros for a Leclerc if you you can get 6 Leopard 2A4s for that price, including a very well developed support base?

France , sadly does not use Steel Beasts Pro :(

As far as i know, only the AMX 30B2s are in storage depots. The regular AMX 30 B2s  might have already been scrapped.o.O

I was wondering what this was ?  Is it part of the main fuel tank system? It seems to be placed in the lower front hull , below the composite armor package.

Is the fuel tank system more or less one connected block as shown above?

What is the thickness of the fuel tank in the area shown ?   How long is the ammunition drum assembly ?  I was thinking about 1100 -1200 mm.
