Grenny
several driver station have the unbuttoned view disabled since 4.019. Was an issue about view modelling for older models a.f.a.i.k.

DK-DDAM
as i was told alot of the older models have the drivers hatch unable to open since the model was too old, and when the model was updated they would make it able again afaik.
Gibsonm
Well arguably this isn't a bad thing since in most vehicles, if the driver is unbuttoned and "up" and the gun is on stab it wont take too long before the driver's head is crushed by the barrel. Ā Unless you are in a compound, on a public road, or elsewhere with stab "off", the driver is almost always closed down.
Members Ssnake
Well, in most real vehicles the driver can move his head behind the vision blocks and thus get 50% more field of view than the vision blocks in our virtual environment allow (because we don't actually simulate a mirror optic). Also, a vehicle's size is better to "feel" in real life than in the pure virtual representation. The ability to unbutton in the simulation, while itself being unrealistic, was intended to compensate for these deficits. To that extent I would rather return to the status quo anteĀ ; the current blocking of the unbutton option is more of a stop-gap kludge than reflecting our design principles.
