TSe419E
I have had to replace my computer recently and was forced into using windows 10 because I couldn't get '7 to load. Everything seems to be working fine with the exception of my X-55, which I use as the game controller for Steel Beasts. When the drivers and software are loaded it seems to work fine but in SB it acts as if I am constantly telling it to go down and left. Any help to fix this, or work around it, would be appreciated. Members Ssnake
Chances are, some other game controller is now the primary device. Or, there's a button programmed to do something that is stuck on autofire.
Rotareneg
To set the joystick to the default device on Windows 10, type "game controllers" (without quotes) into to the search box and it should come up with "Setup USB game controllers". Run that, hit advanced, and set the preferred device to your joystick. That'll make sure software that do not allow you to select a controller (like Steel Beasts) get the joystick instead of the throttle. TSe419E
X-55 is the only controller, other than the mouse and key board, that is installed. Rotar, I have tried that on several occasions and still have the same problem.
DK-DDAM
tried recalibrating it the old way aswell? remember i had to do that on my afv handles aswell to make them work right with win 10
Members Ssnake
Well, okay, Shift+J (Ctrl+J?) re-centers the stick (the other one inverts the Y axis), if it is a simple drift problem. But it doesn't really sound like it.
TSe419E
I can recalibrate the joystick the old way only if I do not install the device drivers. Once the drivers are installed the calibration button is grayed out and nothing shows under the "Test" tab. With the drivers installed the MadCatz software works fine and the stick is usable in other programs but not Steel Beasts. It will work in Steel Beasts, however, if the drivers are uninstalled but I lose the utility of the software. Whether this is an issue with win 10, the Saitek drivers, or Steel Beasts (or a combination of the three) I do not know. Thank you, Rotar, for your 4+ hours of help last night.

DarkAngel
The Madcat drivers, do they set the device into digital mode? If so SB doesn't like that... It is the reason i can't use the target software with my warthog.
TSe419E
I don’t know. Windows 7 did not have this issue and I had no problems using it with Steel Beasts then.
Members Ssnake
Would love to investigate the issue, but the team is fully swamped with other tasks, I'm sorry to say.
TSe419E
SOLVED!!! Rotar sent me a PM and said Dark had read of someone having a similar problem that was solved by reinstalling DirectX 9. It worked. Here is the link Rotar sent me in case anyone else should have this problem: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
TSe419E
Well. Apparently microsoft has decided to change things... again, and now it no longer works. The OS recognizes the joystick but it will not function, not even at the minimal levels with the driver uninstalled.
Gibsonm
Can you re-apply the previous fix? That is, re-install DirectX 9 over the top of whatever the latest Microsloth "update" is? TSe419E
I tried. It doesn't want to work. I'll try reinstalling everything fresh next week.
