the new lighting system makes some older skins not designed with it in mind look a bit washed out; coloring the skin specifically to compensate, the skin loaded in photoshop looks significantly darker than rendered, accordingly i've darkened many parts and added some details

i adjusted the brightest highlights and mid tones in order to reduce them-  even my screen shots don't convey at high noon how artificially bright the original skin looks under the new lighting. i added larger soviet roundels and i intend to dirty them up to reduce the brightness of the reds.

Is this possible to mod in SB? If so, how? Does it have something to do with the normal map files?
