DonG
I dont really know if it's been asked before but wil the new Dutch CV90 NL and leo II A6 be modeld in the upcomming patch? And what about a Fennik recon vehicle, is there any chance for this one?
GH_Lieste
The CV9035NL could be in and is a beauty. The only 'new' Leopard is the Leopardo 2E, which is an uparmoured Leopard 2A6, with the heavy frontal armour and roof armour. This has the longer gun tube of the 2A6 and the IVIS type map. What does the 2A6 NL have that differentiates it from the 2A5DK/Strv122/Leopardo 2E?Fennick isn't in yet.

Of all the afv's I like to see, the Fennick is on the top. The possibilities for recce and surveillance is high. The hummer just does not cut it in a fight, we need some Armour. If the BRDM was playable that would fill the gap.:frown:

GH_Lieste
Leopardo sounds a very close match then.
11E
The Dutch A6 only has a inertial and GPS navigation system, nothing (yet) with maps etc. Just a coordinate and a small ''arrow'' which direction yoou have to drive. The belly is not up-armoured, this is done with the German A6Ms.regards
Members Ssnake
It's important to realize that SB Pro apparently scares the hell out of some people as a threat to traditional, multi-million dollar simulator programs. There seems to be quite a bit of an internal fight about the adoption of SB Pro for vehicle training in the Dutch army. Apparently some people think it's better to prevent SB Pro from being used there even if that means that crews won't receive adequate simulator based training for years ... because they see it as a threat to the costly simulator cabins - which are not delivered yet and which may still take years, so SB Pro would be a suitable stop gap solution. But nooo...SB Pro could have to be had since 2002 to bridge the time until the TACTIS center was complete (is it operational yet?). SB Pro was ready to be adopted as a Leopard 2A4 and 2A6 trainer since 2005. It could be had right now for CV90/35 crew training until the cabin trainers are ready, and it could be used for platoon and company scale level combined arms tactical training with Leo 2A6 and CV90/35, throw in an artillery observer, and air support. SB Pro could be used to visualize high intensity combat at battalion level. It could serve as a cheap and flexible tool to stimulate command post exercises. And all this for less than a million euros over a course of five years. We can only lead the horses to the water, but they must drink themselves. So, whether or not we will ever see a playable Fennek or Leo 2A6 NL will very much depend on the outcome of this discussion. In the meantime eSim will continue to work for other armies that have realized that the benefits by far outweigh the disadvantages that the adoption of a PC based desktop training solution may have.
Wicked
Too bad the Dutch Army isn't willing to spent a few more dollars so they can have more accurate models in the simulations. Its known by now they both use VBS2 and SB Pro but thats about it. Fact is that the man and women in the field cannot train with accurate models. Fact is the Dutch CV90 will not see action in Uruzghan because training takes to long. Oh well... typical Dutch I guess. *sigh*
11E
In one of the last magazine and defence newspaper there were articles about 13th brigade personnel training with SB Pro and VBS(?) and the benefits of it. What the official policy at astronomical level in the Hague is I don't know of course.Regards
