Norfolk
Sad to see a Grand Old Man depart; but most impressive that his kind was still with us until now. The Veterans of the Great War were a very different breed: As the saying in WWII went, "The soldiers of the First World War were tough; the soldiers of the Second World War had to be toughened."
tankenator
recently heard of a 'reality' bases tv programme on one of the BBC channels in the uk that took modern kids 19-21 and put them in trenches in france in a simulated ww1 situation with similiar foods etc.Never got to see it, thought it would be interesting (more interesting at least than the dribble now, how many flip this house shows can we take????)
